Dear Hawk Fans,

After 14 regular season home games, 3 post season home games and 2 trips to Madison Square Garden, the Men’s Basketball season has come to an end. On behalf of the Athletic Department, the coaching staff and the team, I would like to thank you for your tremendous support throughout the entire season. Your passion was evident to the nation when an estimated 8,000 Hawks out of a total of 11,000 fans came to New York City and Madison Square Garden for the NIT Championship game!

The five post season wins and 36 games played are Hawk records. We processed upwards to 20,000 tickets to the NIT games in 15 days. The on-line sales went well and we appreciate your patience and usage of this great new tool. Twenty-two buses made the final run, 16 for students. Slightly more than half (2,000) of the student body was in NY for the final…the other half stayed in the Drexel Library! How many games have you seen where: 16 points were scored in the last 40 seconds; 10 points in the last 20 seconds; and 7 points in the last 7 seconds! (Not since Marvin’s minute).

We never underestimate your loyalty, your passion and commitment to the school and the program and we again thank you for your support. News about next year’s team and opponents will be posted throughout the Spring and Summer months. We hope that you join us at the banquet on April 15th to give our two seniors a well deserving thank you and good luck one last time. For more information on the banquet, you may call or email Clare Ariano at 610-660-1706 or cariano@sju.edu or Katie Shields at (610) 660-1231 or (kshields@sju.edu).
