Lining up a Football Coach?

Steve Logan, formerly of ECU, is now O Coordinator at #2 BC.

The heck with this. I say we go after Spurrier. Maybe he’s ready for a completely new kind of challenge and I bet he won’t mind a “slight” pay cut at all.

Spurrier could make any team in the nation a title contender within 4 years.

We have a Director of B-Ball Ops., a cushy job that does nothing.
I want to be Director of F-Ball Ops.

like the redskins?

I figure Petrino will be done with the Falcons in about 3 more years (and vice versa)… so he could come here in 4 years to get set up for the start of 49er Football in 5yrs…

Dan Reeves is leading the GSU campaign, and many think he’ll be the coach. I found out yesterday that someone you may know lives on Lake Norman. . . . . . . .

Marty Schottenheimer.

Reeves want coach GSU because they can’t afford him.
We can’t afford Schottenheimer.
And GSU is stupid to start football that close to GT. In fact, it’s stupid to even have a 2nd school in GT’s area.

like the redskins?
Any college team.

Yep… He has lived there for quite a few years now and I’ve always wondered about him being the Niner football coach if we ever started a team… but I assume he (or any other famous coach) would have to want to do this out of their love for football instead of for the money.

oh totally.

But even if he doesn’t coach, it would be good to get him as a supporter, much like what GSU has done with Reeves, and what ODU did with the old UVA and Navy coach I believe. Don’t get me wrong having Mac Everett is amazing, but having a name that is associated with football would be huge.

Factoid: Schottenheimer’s son-in-law is on the faculty.

Bill Callahan (formerly at Nebraska) and Ed Orgeron (formerly of Ole Miss) are now available.

Don’t know what in the world would have happened for Southern Miss to want to get rid of him, but Jeff Bower just got let go. Link.

Ted Roof, gone.
Chan Gailey, gone.

Bring in Dan Morgan, I’m fairly certain he won’t have much going on by the time we start football, we could at least hire him as a trainer

What training? Concussion avoidance?

I figured he was a shoe in for the chapter on “Coping with Short Term Memory Loss”

NO, NO, and NO!!!

Elon’s Pete Lembo was just named Southern Conference Football Coach of the Year in his 2nd year at Elon.
He could be a good choice too. Any thoughts on that?
