I hope you are well and that you look forward to working with me in the New Year. The past few weeks have been very trying for me. I was able to come out of hiding long enough to make some significant progress against Alvar and his propaganda war, but have suffered some setbacks here in the lab. Please be on the lookout for the Snowman. He hasn’t been seen for 8 days and I am starting to worry that he has been captured.
Now to down to ‘brass tacks’ as I like to say:
The Monster - Swarming clouds of black dots and unthinkable surprises should not come as a shock. The island can produce anything.
Mr. Eko - Don’t be fooled into thinking he is a man of the cloth by choice. He is more of a wolf in sheep’s clothing - a mercenary with an enlightened brother. He will seek answers from those who cling to the Virgin Mary and will have insight in to Boone’s 2nd plane crash. What you need to ask yourself is why did he go to such drastic means of deception? And keep an eye on that stick.

Not always. Some are, some aren’t but it’s often hit or miss. The best way to deal with Torrents is to find a reputable site and check the user ratings. It’s a loyal community and if the rating is high, it’s usually a legit download. Torrents are great. I, I mean I know someone :unsure: who was able to see a couple Nip/Tuck episodes in digital format before they aired. Don’t know about Lost though. The first episode of this season’s Lost was shown overseas a couple weeks before airing here and it leaked all over the net.

Anybody get a good look at those Bible verses etched on Ecko’s staff? Among them was Revelation chapter 3. Here’s a quote from that chapter:

Great show last night!!! I was disappointed to see that Ecko was a drug dealer but he is one bad dude. I would hate to be on his bad side.

How many murders does it take to fill up a plane? Ecko, Sawyer, Kate, Sayid (assumption since he was a soldier). Anyone else that I’m missing?
How does Ecko get to Australia and why does he fly to the US?

The guy jumps out of a plane with a parachute and still dies? That doesn’t make sense.
Was Michael really talking on the computer? Jack sees a blank screen and surely someone who would have been entering in the numbers would have seen what Michael had written previously.
Anyone ever read Prey by Michael Crichton? The black smoke reminded me of the nano technology swarm from the book.

Yep… that is exactly what I said too.
I was a little dissappointed with the episode though. Eko’s story was ok, but I was expecting a little more to happen after taking a month and a half off.
I thought it was a great episode back to the 2nd half of this season. Sorta caught us up with each of the mains, introduced a new main (ecko), and added some hooks for explaination: wtf is the blacksmoke, why wasn’t ecko scared, where did walt say his dad needed to come, and why does he want/need to learn to shoot, kate’s brief look after jack gave sawyer the drugs definately said a bit as to how she possibly feels, charlie has how many of those statues hidden away, and why? How will he react to claire/aaron now?
The one character we didn’t see any of was sahid. I bet next week is all him/ana and how they start to coexist.

Seems kind of obvious (maybe too much so) but I think the smoke represents each character’s past. The people that seem to survive the smoke (Locke/Ecko) are the ones that confront their past instead of “running” from it. I tried to slow down the footage of the various symbols within the smoke as it engulfed Ecko but couldn’t make out much. There was a crucifixation, the image of some woman and a couple other things that seemed to be related to where he was from.
I like how they portray the “monster.” Kind of cheesy in a way but it’s interesting and different. Looking forward to tonight’s installment.

I wonder if the black smoke is able to form objects? Maybe it turned into the horse Kate saw or turned into Jack’s dad in season 1.
I thought last night’s episode was good. I wasn’t expecting to see the others, I figured it would have been an cliff hanger for next week. I’m not sure how Jack’s back story played into this episode, normally you can easily piece them together.
The rest of the season is looking promising.
