Lousiville 2005 or GW 2006

Who is the better team, last year it was us and Lousiville, running for 1st place and Lousiville took it to us on ESPN for the regular season championship. Lousiville was lights out shooting at home that night, we didn’t have a chance with the way they were shooting. Lousiville ended up in the final 4 (??).

1st GW game of this season, again, GW took us, lot of similarities, when they beat us they could hit every shot from every position on the floor. It seemed to be a shooting clinic.

not even close louisville was way better.

ditto. They proved it in the postseason too. Jury’s still out on GW.

Interesting comparison. They both were teams that were predicated on sharing the ball and scoring tons of points. The only difference was Louisville had a much better SOS.

Louisville 2005 is better. They had way too many weapons. GW has yet to prove themselves. Now if GW goes to the final four or to the championship, then I will change my pick.

I don’t think you can make this call until after the NCAA Tournament. If GW makes a run to the elite 8 I’ll consider them fairly equal.

GW might be out after round 2 this year. I had L’ville in my Final Four bracket last year…they could win any type of game.

Same here, I won my bracket pool last year because I picked 3 out of 4 of the final four teams and the championship correct and the champion. I knew Louisville could beat anyone last year besides Illinois or UNC-CH.

I guess the edge would go to Lousiville because of their Defense. GW can score from all positions, more than Louisville, and the GW bench is maybe the best bench we have ever played against in league play.

When GW shoots well they can shoot from everywhere and everyone can shoot. Their frontline is better than Lousiville was. But the Lousiville D of 2005 makes the difference. In the two games we played them, I was not as impressed with the GW defense, does not compare to the UAB style as the announcers said.

Both of these teams are a tier better than the rest of the conference, which makes them similar. Not just one spot better in the standings.
