I feel the same way, 49r9r. I got as far as making it to the “big dance” year in and year out. But, “one and done” is nothing to brag about. All I have was another “banner” in the rafter. It is kind of tough to sell to "recruits’ these days with such record. ;D

LOL at the new thread title- probably the most appropriate based on the majority of posts in this thread. I’m still having a hard time understanding why people are so offended from the original point of the thread.
Is there any significance in using the word “tarhole” instead of “tarheel”? I’ve never really found it to be a clever insult but if there is some sort of story/history behind it maybe I would understand.

He also counted out blog the same as a printed story. I wouldn’t be surprised if he did not count the “49ers Going to Super Bowl” as a Niner article.

Never counted a blog the same as a printed story. All numbers are coming directly from the print edition. I haven’t even gone to the Observer website since I started keeping track. If you want to show an example of a blog that wasn’t in the print edition let me know. Chapel Hill had 15 games and we had 14 games left at the time I started. That’s in favor of Chapel Hill coverage if anything.

Mike, you still fail to realize that I do not believe a word you say. You started attacking me a few years ago and you have always seemed more concened with defending Your O than you have Niner Sports. Yes, I used to bash the O (so did 80% of the board) but I have also stated the coverage has improved. You seem more concerned with attacking me because of my past criticism of Your O and proving the coverage was always good.
Until I actually meet you (and I will buy you a beer then), I will continue to question your intentions on this board.
I think I solved everything. In post #481 of this thread(http://ninernation.net/index.php?topic=23022.475), ninermike states, “The 49ers sucked this year and all you can do is whine about how bad the Observer is for not covering us. I think I’ve heard more whining this year than ever before. Here’s the reality: Most 49er fans don’t want to read about how bad our team was this year and non-49er fans sure as heck don’t want to read about them.”
This thread is why you see the same 15 regular posters for the last 3 years. Who in the world would want to join and give their opinion? Who would want to join “those ninernation a**holes” for a tailgate. I swear we’re our own worst enemy.
Good work C49ers. I was fed up in 2009 with all of the complaining and did throw a rant out there. I apologize if I was abrasive. As Niner fans we need to hold our heads high. I admit that when I was in school through 1991 I had a chip on my shoulder regarding how the 49ers never got adequate coverage, never got attention compared to the ACC schools, never had merchandise available to buy outside of Pro Sports and the Campus book store.
I’ve lost most of that chip and realize that to get where we want as a University and athletic programs we have to take positive steps. Complaining on a message board does nothing to help that. Attacking other Niner fans does nothing to help that. I’m proud of our University and the places it’s taken me. We may be the step child of the University system (lack of spending, new doctorate programs, etc.) but we sure as hell don’t have to carry ourselves like it. There are better places we are going.
