Lowes Out AT LMS

Correct me if I’m wrong but not only is the CEO and CFO Charlotte grads but also are on the Football Committee. Perhaps they have a slightly cheaper sponsorship in mind? I debated putting this in the Football Forum.

When I heard they were possibly not going to renew a couple weeks back, I thought the exact same thing. They hopefully want to keep a namesake around the Charlotte area, and I am sure the sponsorship $$$ will be way lower. This would especially be true if Home Depot comes in and scoops up the LMS sponsorship as I have heard in numerous blogs they are thinking about it.

Does anyone remember the financial specifics of the deal?

Not 100% on this but I believe it was $30 mil for 10 years.

Found it. You were pretty close. $35 million for 10 years.

Okay. Forget Judy and Phi, let’s get Dijuan Harris and Mac Everett to head on up to Mooresville and get this done.

Not sure Lowes is in a position to do a multi-million dollar sponsorship (would they let LMS go if they were), but $10 mil will get their name on our stadium. Let’s hope they want to become our FedEx (Menpiss Tigers). A major corporate sponsor would most likely DEMAND rapid movement to FBS (to max advertising effect). I’m all for it!

I imagine that Bruton wanted more than $35 mil and Lowes said “in THIS economy?” Imagine what $35 mil from Lowes would do for US!!!

Read the article more closely. Bruton wanted $9 mil a year starting out!:wow:

Says Lowe’s will be working hard to re-up as primary sponsor for Jimmy Johnson’s car but with more capital freed up, perhaps we might get in!

$10 mil will get their name on our stadium

And a stadium would sell FSLs…:49ers:

Take that, CHP! Guess who’s coming to save football from your evil clutches of defeatism!

A bit early I’d say…

Take that, CHP! Guess who's coming to save football from your evil clutches of defeatism(c)!

Fixed.

All things considered, they're doing really well. Less than 20% drop in full year earnings compared to last year, then earnings growth forecasted again next year. Only 24% of earnings going towards dividends, so no cash pinch there.

If anything they should reward Niblock for his excellent stewardship during the economic crisis with a big fat bonus with the check pre-written for Charlotte 49er Football. :shades:
