Lunardi's 2006 Bracketology

Saw this over on the A-10 board. Joe has 4 teams from the Atlantic 10 dancing in 2006:

Charlotte - #6 in Dayton vs. #11 Minnesota
George Washington - #8 in Philly vs. #9 Indiana
Saint Joseph’s - #11 in San Diego vs. #6 Memphis
Xavier - #10 in Philly vs. #7 Stanford

BTW, he lists Cincy and Louisville from among 8 teams from the Big East. Memphis is the lone C-USA rep, with UTEP among the last 4 out. Temple listed in “Next Four Out”.

Among the “Also Considered” are Dayton, Houston, and UAB.

We’ll see… :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow, he’s got some faith.

Joe is sure going out of his way to show he is a “glass half full” kinda guy.

if we could take that prediction, screw the regular season, and just start next season in the tourney with that seed?? I sure as hell would.

still with a 6 seed, you play a 3 in all likelihood in round 2. fairly big road block to sweet 16, could get lucky like Wisconsin though.

6 seed is top 25 though, i’d take it too. especially with conference move.

Dayton is gonna be in the tourney next year, they will be nasty

I watched several times this past season. I’ll be shocked if your nasty quote doesn’t prove true.

Sure, they don’t have the name recognition or sex appeal of Cinci or Louisville, but Dayton & St. Joes (wouldn’t be surprised if Xavier sneaks in also) will be formidible competition for Coach Lutz or whoever else may be in his position.

I agree with ya on that one. I think UMass might be in the mix if Travis Ford can find a point guard for the team. The other pieces are there and now the Minutemen finally have a coach who should be able to make it work.

If you were selling me a #6 seed today, I’d but it, especially if it were in Dayton. The in-laws already have tickets for this regional!
