My question is will they take down the Duke/UNC-CH stuff they have on the walls? Even if itās just during LL, it would be a nice move. Personally, I would have included that in the contract but nobody asked me :)
I was wondering that too. I have only been there once and hated it because they had more UNC-CH and Duke items on the walls than Charlotte.
thankful to D.J. Stout (Operations Manager/Program Director, WSOC-FM, WFNZ-AM, WBCN-AM) for working the show into their new line-up and format
good lord.
Not sure if there is anyone else in Charlotte who can guarantee a mediocre production quite as good as DJ Stout and his cast of buffoons, morons and idiots.
Iād rather not have a show than be associated with them.
Iām excited about the change of location. I was never impressed with Hams (poor service, mediocre food, limited seating for the show etc) so I hope Wild Wing will be better. Plus, with itās proximity to campus, hopefully more students will attend.

His Dad is a huge 49er supporter and donor. Youād probably recognize him if you saw him.

Theyād lose all their business from the frats if they did that.
I agree 100%. Make it a damn NINERS bar. Itās less than 2 miles from campus.
Say it once, say it again, Pics is the ONLY niner bar right now.
While having a chain be a niner bar is so symbolic it hurts, no chain is ever going to support the school the way an establishment like Pics does. Iām sure people are going to blast me for not hanging on WWCās nuts, but if you want LL to be a real success, youāve gotta have it at a place like Picassoās.
And if you guys want to turn a place into a niner bar, find an independantly owned establishment, donāt bother with chains.

They would never host Lutz Live. Why? Because of the above reasons, they donāt have to! They know the students will come regularly and the fans will come on game days. He has nothing to gain by paying $$$ to be the LL host sponsor.
I hope that Wild Wings does do well on show nights. Give them some love.
Oh I know the politics of the situation. I donāt blame the school for milking money from corporate sponsors, bully for them.
But, the idea that WWC is going to be a niner bar is as silly as Hamās being one. If they want LL to be a success, they need to host it at a location that actually cares about the school. It doesnāt have to be picassoās, but that would be the best place for it.
On the flip side, if people here want a different option than pics for ninerdom, they are going to have to mine the area. A good manager will recognize the advantage if the money is there.

I think that those are your choices.

I agree 100%. Bust and I looked into this last year, but its just not really feasible for anyone that just graduated to do so, especially in this economy. Itās something I still hope to do someday, but for now itāll have to wait. Itād be great to have a place that is niner owned and completely niner oriented hosting Lutz Live.

Thatās why Pics would be such a great fit, but they donāt need it. Most niner diehards know that is THE place to be for niner games.
Also, there is a grant from the university that might help you if you really wanted to pursue that endevor. If you want to know more, let me know, I can find the info for you. They might not take your suggestion, but it canāt hurt.
Second, 49erFanatics.com has signed on as a proud corporate sponsor of Bobby Lutz Live! What this means is there will be plenty of Niner gear on hand at Lutz Live this year. Want to see our products up close? Come to Lutz Live. Want to avoid shipping costs and pick up and order in person? Come to Lutz Live. Want to buy some quality Niner gear? Well, you get the pictureā¦
Actually, the not-so-new owner is a poor businessman and has poor managers under him.
