Well, I make it a habit not to give out my home address in public forums...

Seriously, I’ve got an Xbox but have never signed up for Live as my X is hacked. Is it asking for the mac of your X or is it maybe the mac of your router(if you have one). For routers, it may be on the label of hte router plus i know lots of routers allow you to specify a mac address. I’m sure someone else here has done the Live setup, NA?

it’s all good. i came to the rescue.

me before c49er

me afterwards B)

Nice.

Now buy ESPN NFL Football 2K5 (only $19.95 this year!) so I can show (and tell) you how bad I suck.

ESPN did a sports video games segment last night. Ray Lewis said that about 90% of the league is hooked on those games. Trust me, XBox Live makes it much worse.

yeah, my roommates and I watched that segment last night, pretty interesting stuff.

I’ve got ESPN Baseball right now to play on there, along with Crimson Skies, and I’ve preordered NCAA 2005 (college football). so i’ll be hooked on there for a while.

is that 19.95 deal still going on? i figured it was only if you preordered by a certain date.

Mac, you can still play some games live with a modded xbox using a program called xlink. I have been meaning to try it on mine, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet so I’m not sure how many people use it. More info here.

If that ESPN deal is only for pre-orders, I wish someone would tell me so I can order a copy.

From what I understand, that’s going to be the retail, big box store price for it. I think they’re just that desperate to carve into EA’s Madden loyalty. Sounds like the ESPN game is better but no one will try it.

The ESPN game was much better than Madden last year… I played both of them. Neither game is out yet for this year, so I would imagine that the deal is just for pre-orders.

That’s not what I’m getting out of this:

ESPN NFL 2K5 officially $19.99 By Tor Thorsen, GameSpot 06/11/04 11:01AM

URL: http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/06/11/news_6100505.html

Two days ago, many sports fans did a double take when they saw ESPN NFL 2K5 listed at a $19.99 price point on EBgames.com and GameStop.com. However, at the time, officials from the game’s developer, Visual Concepts, wouldn’t officially confirm the new budget price, saying only, “We will have big announcements regarding the game soon.”

Apparently “soon” meant “Friday.” Today, EBgames.com is advertising the new $19.99 price point on its home page as “just announced.” Sources within the retailer confirmed that “The $19.99 launch price for [the] Xbox and PS2 is official and has been confirmed by the publisher.”

The price drop marks an aggressive move by ESPN NFL 2K5’s publisher to win new football fans in the Madden NFL-dominated market. It also comes just days after Sega announced it had signed a deal with Take-Two Interactive to co-distribute the entire line of ESPN games, which it formerly published solo. However, since the agreement was technically between Sega and Global Star Software, Take-Two’s budget game subsidiary, rumors of a price drop for the game were already widespread.

The “E” for Everyone-rated ESPN NFL 2K5 will be released on August 24 for the Xbox and PlayStation 2. For more information, read the brand-spanking-new preview of the game by GameSpot’s own Bob Colayco.

I think the retail price will be $19.99 even after release. I was confused by your question.

The game comes out August 10th.
