Malcolm Gladwell on Steve Jobs

"Of the great entrepreneurs of this era, people will have forgotten Steve Jobs. 'Who was Steve Jobs again?' But ... there will be statues of Bill Gates across the Third World," Gladwell said. "There's a reasonable shot that -- because of his money -- we will cure malaria." "I firmly believe that 50 years from now he will be remembered for his charitable work. No one will even remember what Microsoft is."

I’m glad someone with celebrity called out Steve Jobs for his pathetic record of philanthropy. Great businessman, shitty person.

Everything I’ve ever heard about Steve Jobs indicates he was a shitty person. Philanthropy, his home life, etc. The man should be respected as a great businessman but not as a great person. Great people give to society when it does not benefit them.
