6’9 205lbs PF. I’ve seen him listed from 3 diff places, so not sure…

Scout - 3 star

ESPN - from 2011, so he must be taking a post grad year - 75 rating

[size=13px]Strengths:[/size][font=helvetica][size=13px]Holt is an intriguing 4/5 for the next level. He is a bouncy athlete who has great quickness and he run very well. He gets most of his points of tip-ins and dunks. Defensively, he can block shots due to his quick leaping ability and timing.[/size][/font][size=13px]Weaknesses: In terms of skill and savvy on the offensive end, Holt has a long ways to go. He can elevate over his defender, but his footwork needs polishing (gets off balance) as well as his back to the basket game. Furthermore, it would be beneficial for him to develop a consistent jump shot at the elbow to expand his game.[/size][size=13px]Bottom line: Holt has all the physical attributes to be a Division I post player. However, he hasn't developed-both in terms of skill and savvy-to play at the level quite yet. If his post skills develop and he hones his fundamentals, he'll be on his way.[/size]

Brian Flinn: First question, who are you currently considering and do you have a favorite?

[size=13px]Marcus Holt: Right now I’m considering basically every school that has offered and talks to me. And yeah, my favorite right now is between Mizzou and Xavier.[/size][size=13px]

Brian: Nice, so who else has offered you?

Marcus: Mizzou, Xavier, Boston College, San Francisco, Portland,and UNC-Charlotte.

Brian: Ok, what would you say your are looking for in a program?

Marcus: Mainly just a good relationship with the coaching staff, a well known and respected program where I can play my game and get better.

Brian: So how would you describe your game?

Marcus: Just as a big versitile all around foward, I can play and guard multiple positions, I feel that I am best on the break, and I’m a really good finisher.

Brian: If you had to compare yourself to someone who would it be?

Marcus: My coaches say I play like Tyler Honeycutt, but I like to say JaVale McGhee and Rudy Gay.

Brian: Nice, what are your goals for this summer and your senior year?

Marcus: For this summer really to just keep getting stronger develop my body and mid range/outside jumpshot. And senior year just to be a more of a threat offensively and a more all around player.

Brian: If there was one thing you could tell your future coach and teammates what would it be?

Marcus: That I’m a contributor for whichever aspect of the game it is, I’m going to help the team win games.

Brian: Alright, Do you pay attention to the rankings at all? Rivals has you ranked at #144 nationally.

Marcus: I’m aware of them, but I personally don’t pay too much attention to them just to keep my focus on my game and getting better no matter where im currently ranked.

Brian: Ok, last question, Who do you have winning the NBA championship?

Marcus: Miami over Dallas.[/size]

Marcus is a great kid and humble, He doesn’t get caught up in the hype and focuses on becoming a better player, something that will help him greatly at the next level. It’s only a matter of time before his recruitment really picks up, and I’d be surprised if the schools out on the west coast don’t do everything in their power to stay close to home. [/size]
