A medical school would be another financial drain like ECU. The big donors come out of the business and technology world. Focus on that.
I agree about the donor base. But thereās more to getting a medical school than just increasing donations. Thereās an actual need that would greatly benefit the city. ECUās in Greenville, weāre in the ~20th largest metro in the country.

Grant money for research and academics increases SIGNIFICANTLY with a medical school.
If youāre talking about for athletics, sure, you may be right, but the schoolās mission is academics, not athletics. A medical school benefits the school and the surrounding community a lot more than our football team making the Toilet Bowl or the basketball team making it to the NCAA tournament.

The ECU project is peanuts compared to the UNC Health + Duke Health $2B collab planned for the Triangle:
Imagine having a public medical school in the largest population center in the Carolinas? Might be a good place to train doctors.
