Men’s Soccer Team Enters National Rankings #24

BTW, interesting guest at the UCF game...Steve Smith was sitting about 7 rows behind us.

Carl Edwards came by as well…

Yea I noticed Carl, I’m kind of disappointed he didn’t do a backflip.

See, everyone should come out the soccer games, we have celebrities show all the time

Dang…so many celebrities!

Great to see people in the Charlotte community (who aren't alumni/students) coming to games. This is key to establishing a firmer foothold in the city!
Excellent point !!! This is the exact point I've been trying to make for years.

HIYOOOOO

I really really hope the boys can keep up the strong performance this season. Success always creates buzz on campus AND in the community. More buzz = more interest in the school from the community = more interest in Niner basketball/football = more $$$. Winning is always a win-win situation. I really hope the soccer team plans on continuing the domination. This is nothing but good news for our school in so many ways.

this post has gained an endorsement from the Niner Nation Department of Redundancy Administration.

And I endorse it as well.

always so humble

BTW, interesting guest at the UCF game...Steve Smith was sitting about 7 rows behind us.

Smith’s son’s (Payton, I believe) Soccer team was at the game. My son’s best friend is also on the team and his family also attended. In fact, he invited my son, but we had other plans that night, so he/we couldn’t go…BTW, my son has been to quite a few of his buddy’s soccer games this season with Steve in attendance and my son says he does not seem very friendly to ANYONE normally (we are huge Panther fans by the way). An example, my son (9 years old at the time) was at one of the games earlier this season and by chance was wearing his blue Steve Smith #89 Panthers jersey. Smith sat beside my son the entire game and never even spoke to my son or acknowledged him (or the jersey). I know I’m biased, but I think that was pretty sorry! My son made a point not to bother him the entire time (this was the first time he’d seen him there) but how could a grown man in his position not atleast speak to a 9 year old wearing HIS JERSEY right beside him for 2 hours?

Men’s soccer cracks Soccer America TOP 25, now 8-1 going into tonight’s game at 12th ranked Maryland.

Observer article and poll:

I’ve heard from a number of people that have ran across him that he is a prick in public, (sarcasm on) but I guess when you put in your charity work its okay to be an asshole (sarcasm off).

I think you’ve PROBABLY heard right. I have several other (second hand—admittedly) stories worse than the one I shared above that I won’t air on this forum.

Men’s team(8-1-0) is #21 is the NSCAA/adidas poll, which is what the NCAA recognizes.

http://www.nscaa.com/seniorRes.php?it=849

#2 in the Mid-Atlantic region, behind our A10 foe, St Louis(Who is #9 at 4-0-5)

Lost in Overtime, 2-1 after leading for most of the game to top 15 ranked at Maryland.

tough loss but we definitely belong in the top 25 if we played a top team so close on the road. we would of beaten them at home.

The NCAA recognizes these polls for soccer: NSCAA/adidas(men & women), College Soccer News(men), and Soccer Buzz(women).

The Observer just recognizes the Soccer America poll

Tie game tonight vs Dayton 0-0 in the rain in Charlotte. Now 9-3-1. At home Sun at 1:00 vs Xavier.

Women win 3-2 at Richmond.

Why does the O recognize a poll that the NCAA doesn’t?
