I am thankful we have a blog through the O Jim, and you do a great job, but I really feel there is a lot that is in it that should be an article in print. Our ceoverage mangaed to go up and down at teh same time. So much gets relegated to the blog.
In NSCAA/adidas poll, the one that had us 13th last week, 4 teams ahead of us lost this weekend.
No. 2 UNC-Chapel Hill
No. 3 UC-Santa Barbara
No. 7 Louisville
No. 10 Cal(Twice)
Considering we went from unranked to 14th in the Soccer America poll, a Top Ten ranking isnât completely out of the question in the NSCAA/adidas poll, a move up should be expected though.

If so, it will not be the first time itâs ever happened⌠and itâs happened in about every sport.
When readers read about 3 or 4 teams in this state being âgoodâ and we are not mentioned⌠need I say more.
BTW⌠Way to go soccer team and thanks for the blog Jim.

Thanks to Jim (Iâm Sure), we got the article in print in todayâs Observer with a nice headline: Charlotte men ranked No. 14
It also includes the Soccer America Menâs Top 25 listing in print. Online, you do not see the story unless you do a search for âCharlotte rankedâ. Thatâs how I found the link.

In order to increase our coverage in the O, we need to click on these links. Even though you know what it is, click on it just to get the hit count up. Also, post up on Twitter and Facebook. It takes just a few seconds, and can really help our coverage.
Serves me right. I havent been up there in a few years (football team sucked).
That is nice. Trust me, most high schools had a better setup prior to that.
To the west of that is the poop factory. True story.
The SEC doesnt care about soccer*. I asked around about a menâs team a few times while I was there and the standard response I got was âwhy? weâre a football schoolâ. the attitude is that the only reason they have a team at all is for title IX.
Except SC. And I remember Florida and Vandy supporting their womenâs teams and maybe even had menâs teams.

For real. Most schools would kill to play on a field down by the water treatment plant like that.

It was a joke. Good for them that they finally sank money into it in 2007.
I was there when Mia Hamm and Kristine Lilly were there to publicize the first games about 10 years ago. The setup then was about like our old field, but with metal belachers, and yes, it did literally stink being close to the treatment facility.
Won tonight 3-0 over a not very good Lasalle team. Dominating performance. Niners defense is extremely solid and the offense kept the pressure on all night long.
The big one before ending the regular season on the road is this Sunday at home, 1:00.
Next up for Charlotte is the Fordham Rams who are 4-0 in A-10 play and currently sit atop the conference standings. Last year, the 49ers defeated the Rams 2-1 on the road in mid-October. The match will be critical for both teamâs standings in conference play with both squads vying for a first-round bye in the A-10 Conference tournament on November 12th.
