Week 1 in Charlotte should be interesting…
BS- he got busted and paid a terrific price.
As the Good Book says, “He who is without sin cast the first stone.”
How many time have you knowingly broke the law and did it anyway? Had a couple too many beers and drove home maybe? Been late for a meeting and drove way too fast to get there? Maybe you haven’t but I doubt it.
Well if Vick breaks the law again the jail is right there inside the stadium. BRILLIANT!
Maybe that was the old stadium though.
hold your horses there buddy...
im pretty sure they are a lot of peoples pick to win even without vick. im not an eagles fan but they are legit.
Sigh, now we get stuck with Delhomme again…7-9.
Years we’ve had Delhomme playing for the majority of the year:
2003: 11-5
2004: 7-9
2005: 11-5
2006: 8-8 (lost for 3 games)
2008: 12-4
With Delhomme at the helm, we’ve gotten not only into the playoffs, but BEYOND the 1st round more often than not. He’s SO TERRIBLE! Let’s cut him an get a different failure of a QB every other year like nearly every other NFL team out there! BRILLIANT!
God, I feel like it’s my job to defend the guy. People don’t appreciate what we’ve got. Just wait till he’s gone. Does nobody remember David farking Carr?
If Mike Vick ate the dogs after they died or opened a chain of Mike Vick Chinese Food Restaurants, would it have been a big deal?

Amen…

And I’ll be there with my brother who just so happens to be an Eagles fan, and who has never been a Vick fan, and is a big dog person.
Wonder what he’s thinking?

I don’t know, but I think I’d have to laugh even if people thought I was cold-hearted.
That's funny, bc I feel the opposite way. I can't understand all the support for this POS.And enough with this “he’s paid his debt to society” bull****. Torturing animals is a sociopathic behavior. It’s not like he did something in the heat of the moment or made one bad decision one night or something. He was doing this for years.
Thanks God he went to a team I hate. I would have given away all of my Panthers gear if Carolina had signed him. I’m not kidding.
I am not saying you should support the guy, far from it. Brandon Marshall who is currently undergoing trial for beating his girlfriend. Prior to that he’s been arrested driving under the influence.
Why the hate for Vick and not the other numerous players who committed far worse crimes?

I’d piss on Rae Carruth if he stood before me.

This is how I feel for the most part. I’m all in favor of giving the guy a second chance, but I just didnt want it to be on a team I support cause I cant support him.
Anyone that can treat a living thing the way he did has some serious issues that cant be resolved by simply getting caught.
Will they play, “Who Let the Dogs Out?” at BofA when the Eagles are in town?
I know he can’t play, but will Vick be at the games the first half of the season?
What I find ironic about the whole Vick thing is the people most adamant about him not playing are typically those who are outspoken with regards to free market and capitalism…
Isn’t the Eagles signing Vick a perfect example of free market?

I got the impression that most were adamant about Vick not playing on their favorite team(s) such as the Panthers, not being disallowed entirely. That is also an example of free market. You see, what Vick did repulses some (if not most) consumers and it would be a terrible free market decision to hire him.
Although you could extrapolate that the entire NFL. It’s entirely reasonable that the NFL as a whole could have decided that the possible financial gains provided by allowing Vick back into the league would not meet the loss of revenue from those that are repulsed by the guy and by extension, the league (for allowing him back in).
The CFL could then have been free to contract with the piece of garbage.
I would go to Philly just to watch PETA protest in front of the stadium before a game.
That would be Funny/Scary.
I could see Vick being forgiven in a couple of years - if he performs well on the field.
But I can’t see very may jersey’s being sold with his name on the back.
Philly, Detroit, maybe the Raiders are probably about the only places he could go and be accepted.

I saw Vick jerseys in the stands last year at BofA Stadium. There will be plenty of Vick Eagle jerseys out there.
I’ve also seen Leonard Little and OJ Simpson jerseys at BofA Stadium. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Can we stop putting Vick in the same breath as people who killed other humans?
Why do you think this story is so out of control in the first place, people need some perspective.

I never liked the guy… NEVER.
I do think he does deserve a second chance however, with whatever team was willing to pick him up.
I think the thing that disturbed a good amount of people, especially me, is he never seemed sorry or worried until he knew he was ****ed and they were taking his stuff. It was “They got nothin on Mike Vick,” and smirking at the camera like he was untouchable. He also never seemed remorseful until he knew he was going to lose everything. To me that made him not seem remorseful about his actions, but remorseful b/c of the penalties placed upon him.
Either way, he paid his time, debt, and deserves the ability to go back out in society and earn a living, so why not at the sport he played before. We all know he’s not any good at running a small business.

Guys like Little and Stallworth were involved in accidents in which other people were killed. They contributed to the accident by driving druck and deserved a harsher punishment imo, but it was still an accident.
Vick beat, tortured and brutally killed a living thing. On purpose. No accident. Even though they are only dogs, its the barbaric nature of his crimes that make it harder to empathize with him. Its easier for a person to understand screwing up and getting behind the wheel when your drunk than it is electrocuting dogs to death.
OJ’s on another level obviously.
