I get the impression initial fundraising went well, but convincing new/additional donors has gone poorly. Economic uncertainty due to Covid certainly didn’t help and inflation today isn’t helping.
Per usual, it feels like we shit the bed on timing.
Why does does the ACC care about us? We aren’t even on their radar as a threat to them, they don’t give two craps about us.
State and chapel hill might have some hint of vendetta against us because of our state ties but the rest of the league? Why in the world would the care about us. They don’t have to keep us down. We are doing a great job of that on our own.

I think you are thinking way too highly of us. We are barely a threat to our peers let alone the ACC.

This x 1000 unfortunately. I think a lot of us think of the program as we were, not as we are. Not saying we should settle for where we are, but we have to at least acknowledge it.
The point was you said essentially we are no threat to anyone…clearly some people think we ARE or could atleast be one. I dont think Aresco is a dummy.

I just don’t think Sanchez is a good in game coach.
I’m sure he tries.
Because winning is better for him.

He will probably have a very solid career moving forward as an assistant coach after he leaves us.

Being a threat includes what people think you are capable of. I suspect our “peers” that wanted our AAC spot see us as a threat as well.
Look we aren’t good. That’s all I’m saying and that isn’t a shock to anyone. We’ve been talkkng about what we should be for nearly 2 decades. At some point you are who you are until you prove otherwise.

I’m done believing bullshit. I’m in prove it mode. Can we be those things yes. Show me. None of those power schools are going to worry about us until we give them a reason to worry.
Potential is just a word we use to make ourselves feel better about where we are. We CAN be those things but until we are we are what our records say we are.
CUSA invited us based on what we could be. We screwed them. Let’s hope we don’t screw the AAC with it too.
