Good article. Gotta think the new AD sees some potential on North Tryon for us
The food lion shopping center is the obvious candidate for something like this. Would be very interested to see that developed and better integrated with the blue line parking garage (and retail) and the hotel. That area could easily be a district that attracts people all year and is easily connected to the game day experience.
New Oklahoma Sooners’ arena will be 5 miles from campus and will seat about 3,000 fewer spectators than current facility.
clt says this bubble is getting big
Chapel Hill will eventually do the same… move hoops to the “new” campus 2mi north and have retail/hotel(s) and arena.

Looks good overall. Their reimagined stadium has new hospitality spaces to drive revenue and looks like they plan to remove/replace the upper deck on the opposite side to decrease capacity.
These facilities are going to backfire.
Too far away from campus.
Anything more than a mile from campus is too far.
I love that our facilities are embedded tightly with our campus.
Give me that all day long.
Not a comment on Rice. I didn’t have time to read the article. But 5 miles (OK) and 2 miles (UNC) is too far.
I suppose if the UNC project is integrated into the Franklin street corridor they will be ok.
I just want my facilities in campus.
