he was okay. i wouldnt recruit him. watching him i didnt think he would be a two star player.
yeah, watching this guy i dont even know if i would have him as a two star player. he was pretty good but no more than a walk on level talent. definitly not a great player. by the way, forsyth country day, the team calvary baptist played started a 5â7" kid in eighth grade who ended up the leading scorer in the game with 19 points. if this grows and continues to get better by the time he hits high school he will be a big time recruit.

I saw that 8th grader nailing some 3âs on the local news.

No idea if FCDS is in the NCHSAA, but if they are, that kid can only play up to his jr year, unless he skips a grade or graduates early(thus making his jr year his senior)
I only mention this because my HS, RJ Reynolds, had a football player last year who was in 8th grade and started on varsity as our tailback. I believe he was to skip 9th and enter HS as a sophomore, but I could be wrong.
Random trivia: Without looking it up, name the former Niner who won two NC State BB Titles at RJR.
Iâll give you a cookie

AGGH! You beat me to it by a couple minutes.

Iâm always lurking in the shadows my child.
Damn you people and your fan-dom! Iâm gonna be completely honest here, when I was at Reynolds, I had no clue who Mitchell and where he went to school. All you heard about was this kid named Reyshawn, then Joe Fulp, then Mike Copeland, then Rod KirbyâŚnow I think weâve ran out of top quality talent for a bit(no offense to a good friend of mine who plays D3, or his bro who plays and could very well go D1)
Wasnât Mitchell the State POY? For some reason that jumps in my head.
Noah wanst it great those games between rayshawn and cp3 at the joel and annexâŚgreat atmosphere I think they were getting more people than wake games at the timeâŚtoo bad we took confrence and region that yearâŚbut it was still fun

BOOO, HISSS. are you a West Forsyth grad?
yeah I amâŚWow what a great school
Noah wanst it great those games between rayshawn and cp3 at the joel and annex....great atmosphere I think they were getting more people than wake games at the time....too bad we took confrence and region that year...but it was still funSad to say I never went to an RJR bb game until the Frank Spencer my Sr year, when I went to see one of my boys play against Gwinnett. That was the same night Eric Wallace introduced some kids face to his nuts.
But yes, I remember hearing about the CP3 and Reyshawn battles. More so, I remember the talk surrounding our series vs. Oak Hill(last happened my soph year), and the MLK game featuring Reyshawn vs Lebron
please tell me you are not repping the West Foâ
EDIT: a little too slow on that reply. moss2k, where did you go? West hatred comes from only two schools, RJR and Tabor.

Just playing around. I graduated from Davie in 2000.

I was at the Reyshawn vs Lebron game. Reyshawn was playing extremely well vs 'Bron. The refs made some very questionable calls vs Terry and he was plagued with foul trouble. Lebron went on for 30+ pts.
DavieâŚdamn that is one tough place to play football. Loud as hell, people screaming at you, giving you hellâŚhas to be one of the largest crowds ive seen at a HS game.
We wouldve baten you my senior year had your coach not stolen our signals

Fixed.
When Howard West left for Reagan, the recruiting at Reynolds and their sudden success seemed to end. He hasnât convinced ultra-talented guys to come to Reagan yet, but Iâm sure heâs working on it. I was told by several people that there were only two players on Reynoldsâ two State Championship teams that actually lived in Reynoldsâ school district. Forsyth County has virtually free transfer, as you know, but it was suspicious when Reynolds had that many non-district basketball players suddenly playing there. Prior to this time period, Reynolds had not been good in basketball in my lifetime. I know for a fact that Reyshaun Terry was out of district, and transferred to Reynolds in the middle of basketball season. Bittle/Baldwin lived in Rural Hall and originally attended North Forsyth. Justin Verlander lived in Guilford County. There are plenty more. Those are just the few I know the details on. They claimed to not be recruited, but if you believe that Iâve got some oceanfront property in Stanly County Iâll sell you.

Itâs known amongst studentsâŚthatâs all I will say here. As I have told ninerball49 in a PM, Ive got a bunch of stuff on the RJR AD. Stuff that implicates friends of mine as well as the status of several of our former star players, including Reyshawn. Anyone wanting to know more can feel free to PM, I just dont want to have it out in the open.
EDIT: Reagan has recruited players, but they just havent panned out like others have in the past. And I know for a fact that Reynolds had a player last year that could very well have been a recruit. And dont think itâs just basketball, football is included as well

HS can be looked at just like college. Wouldnât you want to play where you are going to get the most attention from the next level? With the talent they had there, I would have wanted to be at RJR too.
Very true, but more recently, players who come to RJR are coming to get more exposure to teams like Carolina, Duke, Wake, and State. There was a kid from Indiana who came to Reynolds for that reason alone. Location definitely helps us out.
