Saint Joseph’s/Texas on Espn 2 at 3pm…hope Saint Joseph’s can pull it off.
La Salle goes OT again but pulls out a W over Valpo. Thought missed FTs at the end of regulation would get them against like it did against Southern Miss but fortunately not this time as the Explorers win 75-70.

That loss has to hurt UMass.
That loss has to hurt UMass.
Wow, not the way DK wanted to start things off in his first home game as UMass coach. With the exception of Tony Gaffney, who’s definitely looking All A-10 (averaging 14.5 ppg, 13.5 rpg and 5.4 bpg and had 20 points, 13 rebounds, and 8 blocks last night), the Minutemen are not looking good.
Jax State went on a 9-2 run to end the game and in the last minute, UMass missed FTs that would have kept them in the lead. That on top of a less than stellar crowd (4,800 in 9,500 seat Mullins Center) and losing to a team that until this past weekend (at Georgia State) hadn’t beaten a non-conference foe on the road in over 5 years! BTW, JSU (located in northeast Alabama near Anniston) is a member of the Ohio Valley. And yes, that one will be a drag on the ol’ RPI. Geez!
If UMass finishes second in conference, Xavier is the only team getting in.
