Monie Hudson 2009 PG (JC)

Didn’t see a separate thread for him… figured I’d start one since we lost Calliste. 6’0 185 PG from Southeastern Illinois C.C. He’s a Juco so he’d be a 2 year player. We haven’t offered or anything as of now, but he’s listed on rivals. He’s not ranked yet so he’s pretty under the radar.

Anyone know anything about him?

He doesnt sound too bad. Saw somewhere that he was rated as rivals top 20 juco players. We are limited in options right now.

After watching the video he seems to not like using his left at all. It was a few years ago, hopefully that has changed.

There is supposedly a JUCO PG who would have 3 yrs of eligibility (like Dijuan had) we are looking at but I don’t have a name. From a top JUCO program. Do any of the JUCO PGs posted have 3 yrs?

Ah I saw that but wasn’t thinking it was him because I thought he went to a different HS, but I believe I was wrong.

Can a juco player transfer in after one year and play immediately? I think that was the case with Harris, wasn’t it?

Yes, depending on the circumstances by which they transfer in. Dijuan was a qualifier, so he could immediately enter a DI program. Since he wasn’t recruited, he chose to go the Juco to improve his stock. Many (most?) Juco players are non-qualifiers so they have to get their Associate degree (this detail is what led to Weldergate at Saint Bonaventure) before transferring in.

You have to transfer with at least 24 credits.

Some info on him at NinerReport, forum. Maybe Tim can post it here.

In case you were wondering, he has committed to the Purple Aces of Evansville.
