The criticism of having Denis do the Bond movies is that heās a little too serious and Bond is supposed to have just a slight bit of cheekiness and playfulness. I want to see some of the classic Bond elements brought back too, like all the crazy Q gadgets, cars, etc.
Honestly, I just want another Bond movie as good as Casino Royale was. That one was an absolute banger. It has aged really well. Eva Green too⦠:bite fist:
I am so with you on Casino Royale Advocate. I have watched it more than any other bond film.
The best ever in my opinion.
Nolan.
Who I also want to see tackle Bind at some point.

This could be really good. I hope so. If it turns even one more person on to the genius of Jeff Buckley, Iām cool with it. I will definitely go see this.

Championing this a bit, Iāll admit, but this was a solid, enjoyable movie with some fantastic racing sequences. Go see it if you havenāt, preferably on a premium screen.
Looks pretty good. They picked the right guy to fill the game show host spot.
clt says, yes paige is in it
Agree with the HG 2 review above. I did chuckle a few times but it felt like really cheap laughs.
Fantastic Four Review below mild spoilers
Saw Fantastic Four today. I think my initial impression is around a 6.5/10. The third act is flat. Missing a lot of character development /payoffs, and other detail that felt like it got edited out of the final cut. The problem is that the script was āand then this happens, and then this happensā and not ābecause of this, this happensā - youāve probably seen the South Park writers clip talking about bad writing vs good writing.
Pedro Pascal is way too Beta to be Reed Richards. Did not like his casting at all or his portrayal (John Hamm I think would have been great - just watched him in Beirut the other night).
I personally prefer Norrin Radd as Silver Surfer, though Iām not sure the Surfer got enough screen time for it to matter. Everyone else was fine to very good.
I donāt personally think that Vanessa Kirby looks like Sue Storm, but she did very well with what they gave her. Sue is supposed to be very powerful, and I think they conveyed that well.
Thought Galactus looked great but was underpowered. He was basically the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Underdeveloped backstory too - though I think he was just in this movie as a preview of Secret Wars. If so, I canāt wait to see him and Taa II.
That Secret Wars series (1984) was my favorite comic book story arc as a kid. It was phenomenal, peak Marvel.
It was hard to get tickets to FF this weekend, at least locally. Probably had a good bit to do with the oppressive heat, but that bodes well. I think itāll end up doing fine, though I donāt think it or Superman are going to make a billion like their studios probably hoped.
Pretty cool !
I love how they used more actual golfers this time and had Scottie serve jail time
