While some of you may have issue with a game being scheduled on Halloween, I have a problem with the scheduling of the home opener. I now have conflicting events!
Fishbone, one of my most heartfelt favoritest bands on Earth will be in town on this night and I have no choice but to go. Id be there pretty stinking early if I didn’t have this game. I’m just trying to figure out how long I can stay at the game before going.
The game starts at 730 and the concert starts at 9, and Fishbone isn’t even the headlining act so I don’t know when they will go on. I’m gonna have to call Amos’ and ask them. My problem is, if it takes like 10-15 minutes to get from the arena to Amos’, I’m going to have to leave before the end of the game no question. Ah crap… and this means I can’t facepaint either.
Not sure what I will do, because since this is a favorite band, I had really wanted to be in the front row. I paid for it last night when I wasn’t in the front rows for TMBG. They gave out free foam fingers and I didnt get one! Anyways, what would guys do?
Go to the concert. You will have 15+ more chances to see the niners this year, but who knows when the band will come back around. If you are that big of a fan, I’d go see them and not worry too much about missing the exhibition game.
Fishbone won’t step foot on stage until at least 11. Ive gone to MANY shows at Amos’, if they arent the opening band, you won’t see them til 10:30 or 11.

if you miss the game or any game rather you void your chance of getting the replica charlotte baseball jersey. which i’ve heard is the last prize for the Niner Award Points. Max Power i think he is referring to the high point game.
so all in all bust i would recommend going to the first half of the game then leave to go to amos’. you should be able to get there with time to spare.
If you can pull both off, go to the game until halftime (or whenever) and then go to the concert. You get a pass from me since bands don’t come often.
People, I’m not generally this forgiving. If you are needing to confess to me BEFORE the season begins, do it now. :shades:

You may want to come to the game to see how much you need to drink that night. For me it would be equal parts celebration or self-pitying drinking. Either way I win.

I’m serious. Print this post off and save it, and wave it in my face if I’m wrong. If they aren’t the opening band, they will not step foot on stage until 10:30, at the absolute earliest.
You are really going to be kicking yourself if you leave the game early (or dont go at all), and then sit around for 3+ hours while you wait for Fishbone to take the stage.
Do what you want, but I think you could go to the game, go eat dinner, and still be at Amos’ before Fishbone even shows their faces.

If you’re wrong you have to dress up in a pink tutu for the App State game!
After all that we endured last season, the Niners and their fans are due some good fortune this season. Maybe I believe a little too much in fate, but I have a feeling we will not have another season like last year.
You don’t know when those highlights will happen…so do you really want to miss any minute of play?

lol. I wont be wrong.
If they arent the opening band, and Bust says they arent, then they couldnt possibly be on stage before about 10:30 or so, the doors dont even open til 9:00, so the first band probably wont crank up til after 9:30, when our game will be ending.

They will be the second band. You still think they won’t be on til 10:30? I trust you oh wise Chisox, but if I miss any of this concert I’ll be quite sad. I do think I’ll be okay in that regard, I just really wanted to get up front.
I have been considering going to the Raleigh show as well tho so maybe I could just plan on being up front for that one too. Luckily that show is on the 13th so I wouldn’t have to pick between it and another game. I just wonder if I can still get my loyalty points for this game. These are exceptional extenuating circumstances!
Bust, it’s okay to go to the concert! I’m not going to the game either as a I have a prior commitment. So I’ll miss the Canadian national anthem!

QFT
There isnt a shot in hell that they take the stage any earlier than 10 oclock. You could go to the game, get a bite to eat, and still get to the show before they hit the stage. No problem!
edit: dont feel bad if you cant get to the game though bust. I’ll be going door to door begging strangers for food with my daughter.
