Hooner, did you make sure that resume went into File 13? (For those that donât know what File 13 is, itâs what my Grandma calls the trash can.) :))
And how is USC Lancaster in the USC system? I hear itâs a community college. We donât call SPCC (Southern Piedmont Comm. Coll.) UNC-Monroe!
Looked through past posts and didnât see this article link up yet.
Please change our school name. I hope we donât have to wait for another chancellor, but if we do, I hope we bombard him/her. I just got off the phone with a lady I used to work with. Sheâs originally from Montana but she has been living in Charlotte for the past eight years. I had to take 20 minutes to break it down to her to explain that we are not apart of Chapel Hill. Yes, we are both under the UNC school system, but we have totally different mascots, etc⌠I still donât know if she gets it, but I am sending her that link to the article to maybe help explain why we should change our name. I guess I should be used to this by now lol. One person at a timeâŚ
Philâs osterich approach to the name change issue is getting embarrassing.
What specifically?
-Oh is it the "UNCC"s in both articles?
I really donât consider being called UNCC to be name confusion. In fact, I donât understand why someone would rather us be called UNC Charlotte than UNCC. I think going by UNCC causes way less name confusion than UNC Charlotte. Either way, change the damn name NOW!
Jason Hutton, who played baseball at Charlotte in 2000, and was drafted by the White Sox in the 48th Round of 2000 MLB Draft is listed as being drafted from the University Of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) (Via Baseball-Refrence) âŚ

The worst part is the EVERY community college in the United States ends with the letters âCCâ put that on top of the satellite school misconception and other BS, Iâd prefer UNC Charlotte to UNCC, of U of Charlotte trumps all.
I donât consider UNCC or UNC-Charlotte to be name confusion either. They may not be the official terms, but theyâre not confusing us with Chapel Hill at least. I do agree that North Carolina, Charlotte should be listed as name confusion however.
When is the movement to rename UoC to begin? This needs to start higher than the school admin. The admin needs to understand they have the support of the state government and BOG or they will never act on it.
I hear that. When I say âname confusionâ I donât necessarily mean confusion with Chapel Hill, though that is the main definition. My view is that any incorrect form is name confusion because they are clearly confused with what our name actually is.
I do see how these listings can lessen the impact of the message and I feel they should be listed as minor instances, but they are still incorrect and clearly a sign of confusion and deserve mentioning.

I had thought about making a thread with this very topic when the final symbolic approval of football was given, but I guess I thought it would get covered up by celebratory and speculative threads. I was told by several that the time was after football was finished, but I still tried (in vain). But I agreed at heart that the people couldn't focus on two major movements at once.
Now, I wonder if this is in fact the time or not. Do we still need to focus completely on football to make sure things are done with it correctly (like seats rather than bleachers), or can we finally begin really pushing this thing. It does seem like a lot of people have been discussing name change lately, and people are coming back from the off season; maybe now is the time for that thread.
University of Chapel Hill at Charlotte?
This little item has been on this board before. I just sent the seller an e-mail through e-bay. I left out âyo boneheadâ as the preface. Werenât there more of these given out than he says? I may report this a-hole to e-bay and try to get him kicked off there.
