Agreed. If state championship games are played on our campus that is basically free recruiting visits for us from two of the state’s top teams. Great way to get top players on campus. Wertz may be a jerk but he is also right about this.

If you measure the miles from Murphy to manteo and find the half way Point, it is about 20 miles east of statesville. Yet, we are told by those decision makers that CLT is not a good place to host high school
playoffs because it is too far for eastern teams to travel. CLT is close to the center of the state. All games could be played here using the Rich, memorial stadium, and BOA. But I believe we all know this is not going to happen. We don’t want a built in advantage for CLT area teams.

I don’t think he was putting us down.
It does seem a bit odd that a sports reporter had never been to our stadium but he does cover High School sports not college right?
That is not even close to being acceptable. He covers recruiting.
clt knows a great stadium to host that game, easy walking distance to the light rail

St. Francis didn’t look great today. They have numerous injuries. Charlotte area football is very competitive. Lots of great teams.
