We crossed a line at some point where the ncaa started being afraid of big brands and power conferences.
When the NCAA should have been making decisions they were too scared of those power players to do their job.

Probably mad he didn’t think of it first.
will be interesting to see how good this guy is in college.
The NCAA showed they would not stand up to the big brands when they essentially turned their head to unc 18 years of academic fraud!
I am curious when the pro leagues start viewing college sports as a competition now.
I would say the G league now sees them as competition. Players can make more in college than in the G League
This will become common in basketball. Many one and dones don’t pan out so they’ll be heading back to college for the money instead of being fringe NBA players.
FWIW, neither Thierry Darlan nor London Johnson has ever played in college, so to say they are “returning” is incorrect. Latter signed a seven figure G League contract that was referred to as “record setting” at the time so he was well compensated. Also, Johnson never declared for the NBA Draft (unlike Darlan, who did but later withdrew his name). Both have been granted 2 years of college eligibility, so each needs to make the most of that time to prove what neither has been able to do thus far - that they are NBA caliber players. Or in Johnson’s case, even G League worthy based on his stats.
Anyway, seems that the NCAA is now treating some domestic minor leaguers who have never played in the NBA similar to how they do international players who haven’t either. Afterall, Raul Villar spent three seasons with FC Barcelona - mostly with the lower level B club - prior to signing with the Niners.
3* recruit who washed out in the G League.
Seems like G League players moving to college or back to college to finish their eligibility would open the door to players entering the draft then going back to college if they were not selected or not selected where they wanted.
I’ve never understood why that was a thing anyway.
College basketball doesn’t owe the NBA anything.
I think they should be able to go back.
let’s do it. Let’s get nuts!!!

It’s getting ridiculous. This guy has been out of college basketball for 5 years.
Ok now that’s nuts.
That’s pretty cool. Go pro overseas then come back and play college (pro) ball here.
We might as well call it the pro college league now.

Wait I think that’s fake……
Just revealing the reality, it’s college sports are now professional. I guess that since LeBron James never played college ball he can still play for some college somewhere.Hell, LSU is paying fired coach $54M someone could come with that much to pay James just to win.
Yeah LeBron seriously ought to consider it - he could go play for Akron - that’s where he committed before he went straight to the pros. Could be his basketball swan song and would generate all kinds of buzz.
As long as it’s not basketball, he could. Just like JR Smith - his former Laker teammate - playing men’s golf for NC A&T.
Nah if that guy can play pro ball for 5 years and then come back to play hoops for Marquette, then LeBron can do it too.
Yeah, that’s cute to say but not happening.
