NCAA Tournament, In or Out?
if we win the next 6 i will drive to DC
I call shotgun.

if we win were in, run the table including gw and wake, and one in the a-10 tourny.
and were in

by finishing 4th or 5th, we can handle anyone on the league until GW or X in the finals (assuming we get the 2 seed).

Nevermind!

Because we beat Temple? That’s nothing. No way this team gets to the NCAA field of 64. But at least we might host an NIT game. Some of you guys think that is just as good as making the NCAAs anyway.

With 20 wins including two A10 tourny wins and the big road win over GW… we’ll make the NCAA tourny.
We’ll be ready for GW next time, and we’ll play hungry the whole game. We can beat those guys.
…Some of you guys think that is just as good as making the NCAAs anyway.
I don’t know of anyone who thinks the NIT is as good as the NCAA. It just means you’re not as bad as the other 200+ teams that go nowhere and you get to hang a banner that proves you were just so-so.

I rather be the last seed in the NCAA’s than win the NIT.

I think if we don’t beat GW twice then we’re not in. It’s simple, you prove to the league you can beat the best in your conference, TWICE, that is strong but that includes taking care of business. If somehow GW gets knocked out early and we get deep in the tourney and lose to a lower seed…we’re screwed…
I think if we don’t beat GW twice then we’re not in…
Unless we only beat them only once, but do so while in the process of winning the A-10 Tourney… Come to think of it, we don’t really have to beat them at all. It’s a damn good time to rename the A10 Tourney the Bobby Lutz Invitational.

At least this NCAA discussion has lasted later into the season than most of us thought it would. Back in December, I doubt many of us thought we would be discussing the NCAA chances this late in the season.

What the F$#K is everybody on this board drinking?!!

We don’t have the perverbial ā€œsnowball’s chance in he!!ā€ to make the Dance (outside of winning the A-10 Tourney…which we haven’t shown we can even COMPETE with Xavier and GW…ON OUR OWN HOME COURT).

How many good wins do we have…ZERO…NONE…NADA. NONE! NONE!

Name one win that would impress the selection committee (and please don’t say Temple, St Joe’s or Rutgers…I can’t laugh that hard again without splitting my spleen…their records and RPI’s are as follows: 12-9/51, 10-10/48, 12-10/88).

Bueller?

Now, name how many BAD losses we have had…at least 4-5…that would KILL us in the eyes of the committee even if we had just 1-2 of them.

We have lost to:

 • Northwestern - 10-10/ RPI- 84
 • Miss St - 12-10/ RPI- 110
 • Richmond - 11-11/ RPI- 170
 • Wyoming - 11-11/ RPI- 171
 • Valpo - 12-8/ RPI- 187

ZERO good wins with 5 DREADFUL losses…again…what are you drinking!!!

With our remaining schedule, our RPI has no shot of getting even remotly close to the 70’s…much less the 40’s which is MINIMAL…even with GOOD wins to support the resume.

Call me a pessimist if you will. But these are facts. I’m a realist. We have NO shot at an at-large…period.

Our only shot is to win the A-10 tourney…and c’mon, we can’t even compete with Xavier & GW on our home court.

So, everybody…please put down the crack pipe…please…it’s embarrassing to read and actually try to believe that you guys are serious at all…

We will make it if we can win out and make it to at least the conference semis.

We will ALSO make it if we can go 6-1 with a loss coming to GW and we make it to the Conference finals (beating Xavier or GW in the tourney). This would then make us a bubble team in which I believe we get in.

Again, you are amazingly no where near reality.

If we go 6-1, losing to GW…WE STILL HAVE ZERO GOOD WINS ON THE RESUME (with the same 5 bad losses). Why would the selection committee even consider us? You have to give them at least 1-2 REASONS to consider us…tell you what…give us ONE reason we deserve to go, considering who we have beat and who we have lost to.

Un-freaking-believable.

GW & Xavier are going…that’s it (and Xavier isn’t even that good…and they SPANKED us).

The ONLY way we go is to win the A10 tourney…and we don’t have as much of a shot to do that either.

Wait till next year guys…it’s OK.

What the F$#K is everybody on this board drinking?!!

Pessimist

....please put down the crack pipe....

Um, what crack pipe?

Good to see you drop back in K-town

Our resume may stink, but I think everyone elses will too. We can squeek in with one more loss and making the finals.

I agree with this to a point. There will be a number of teams that in past years would have no business making the tournament get in this year.

But I agree with KTown, short of winning out or winning the A-10 we don’t get in, and this team has yet to show they could ever do either.

Can’t you guys see what the Niners are doing to you?? They are teasing you into believing that we can make the NCAA’s. I’ve seen this too many times before. We will probably beat Wake and Richmond just to tease us a little more, and then we will go up to Fordham on ESPN and lay huge egg. I’m not falling for it again. I’ll only say we have a chance to make the Tourney when we are playing in the A-10 Championship game with a lead.

I can’t believe our fans are actually getting ā€œ****yā€ after winning 3 in a row against the likes of St. Bonny, Dayton and Temple. Don’t torture yourself. We’re NIT bound!

The committee also looks at how well you FINISH also but overall RPI helps…
