NCCU pregame discussion
Would have to factor in D Line health and declining heat to that record. I dont remember the Wesley game being all that warm.

Anyway, on the good news front… possible vid link for Saturday?

http://portal.stretchinternet.com/nccu/portal.htm?eventId=158575&streamType=video
The three games we won at home were (IMO) the hottest. Campbell, Catawba and GW.
The fans might not like heat but the team seems to.

anyway, I think we lose by 10 (as always, I’m a pessimist).

I think this years NCCU team will be much different than what we saw last year. They have a new coach, an new offensive system, and a new QB. Not sure if they are better or worse, but I can say we are definitely better this year than we were a year ago. I think if we limit our turnovers, we will win this game.

They also lost their kicker, and it looks like their new kicker missed 3 FGs last week. That could be a big factor.

Here is a preview I posted in another thread:

OUTLOOK: At 33, Mack might look like a fifth-year senior as he takes on his first head coaching position. The youthful coach, who already has 10 years of experience, replaced Dwayne Foster, who served as interim coach last season. Mack will seek an impact from some transfers while he seeks discipline and consistency out of the Eagles, whose best season on the Division I level is six wins. QBs Bell and Billerman may both see time running the team’s new fast- paced, no-huddle offense after the Eagles ranked 119th in the FCS in total offense last season. They will want to get the ball to Wilkins, who not only caught 37 passes last season but had a nation’s-best five touchdowns on kickoff and punt returns. A strong secondary will anchor the defense as CB Jones is coming off a dynamite freshman secondary and Moore and Smith are take- charge safeties. The Eagles also are set at defensive end with the return of Brown and Small.

I feel strangely optimistic about this game. I think we win it 27-17.

I think we win this too. I see a losing 14-10 at half then pulling ahead in the 2nd for a 24-17 win.
We both played CIAA teams this past weekend. The Niners handled JCSU pretty easily who was picked to finish 7th in the CIAA. NCCU beat ECSU 34-7 on Saturday. ECSU was picked to finish 5th in the CIAA.

It is hard to take too much away form that, except to say that they faced slightly better competition last week. I don’t know how much their starters played compared to ours either.

Fun fact I learned the other day. My neighbor was a center for Elizabeth City State years ago.

NCCU Press Conference:

I like this one:

• So, unofficially, 49ers running back Kalif Phillips’ six rushing touchdowns leads both FCS and FBS.

Well…the preseason is over, now we get to see where we really stand. Charlotte 27-20, I think we limit the turnovers and get sweet revenge for the reality check last year

27-24 Niners, should be a tough game.

Actually feeling good about this one
Niners win pulling away 30-14

clt says we win, as long as avoid turnovers, we moved the ball up and down the field, but we had too many turnovers, and we need a strong second start to the second half.

I selected this link and it said $8.95 to watch this single game.

“I love their crowd,” Clarke said. “They’ve really just got that college-football atmosphere, and I would like for them to bring it here. With our fans together, it’s going to be a great game.”

“Going into Charlotte last year, the atmosphere was ridiculously crazy,” NCCU defensive end Felix Small said.

NCCU looks to mine gold as Charlotte 49ers come to town

Is Ch. 18 showing us?

Don’t think so.
