But I bet 75% of you are somewhat superstitious when it comes to the Niners. I haven’t washed my game shirt in about 3 weeks. [/b]

Since becoming a new dad outside of the CSET market, I’ve been relegated to listening to many of the games on the UNCC tv channel. I had my 49ers seat cusion propped on a box in my garage. Late in the game I turned so the logo faced the tv, then Carney hits a 3 to make it a 1 point game. I quickly moved it back to it’s original position and Eddie grabs the board off of Mitch’s missed free throw. Then he makes his 2 and game over. So don’t tell me superstitions aren’t real. That in conjunction with the Niner Nation shirts coming out is what did it for us.

Well maybe Eddie had a little something to do with it.

Correction- Gang Green was started in 1997 by four guys in Holshouser, of which I was one. This was at a time when the student section sat during games (except Cincy) and very few students wore green to the game. We used to get yelled at b/c we stood the entire game. Our response was, “This is college basketball, stand up or shut up.” Our goal was to get some life in the student section and it worked. It’s awesome to see that more students are owning this team. Be it Niner Nation, Gang Green, I could care less. Wear Green, stand up, cheer, talk creative smack (BS cheer and You suck are not creative) and enjoy this team!!!

i dont think everyone in the lower level necessarily needs to be wearing the same shirt, they just need to all be in green. skeet skeet calm down, if you this get mad at something like this, id hate to see how you would handle a real problem

lex you’re the man, keep gettin hype!!!

Niner Nation isn't a student section or group. Niner Nation is the collective body of all Niner fans ages 1-101. Gang green is a specific group. All gang green mambers are also part of Niner Nation. Niner Nation isn't only people in 104. Niner Nation citizens are found all over Halton and all over the world in various places.

I agree. It is cool to all wear the same shirt like Wake, State, Carolina, Mich. st. etc. some games like memphis are cool, but its also cool if everyone can show their own creative niner spirit (as long as its green or green and gold{no gold duster black  ]) sometimes. The uniform does have a nice effect on tv, but I think its good if everyone wheres what the want(assumuing the green) in general.

the 6 month olds and 102 year olds are NOT happy about the age discrimination

Hahahaha, that was classic.

Mineshaft, I was about to say the same thing. The ORIGINAL Gang Green was back in 1997 and even got some feature air time during the NCAA’s on national tv. I never “officially” got into that one because as it was forming, I had to move to Virginia for reasons beyond my control and most of them were graduating as I returned in 1999. Hell, I don’t know if I even know you mineshaft.

I think everyone who started it leaving about the same time killed it. Then the current Gang Green contacted one of the originals to ask if they could use the name. It was a bunch of crazy guys…still are; quite a few still go to every game too. But I can say, that they started finally getting some real fans out here.
