Certainly old news and Lutz has already addressed these rumors on mutiple occassions. In response to the statement about all the students treating him like “God.” Lutz has become more vocal in the past year about poor student attendence at those games outside of Cincinatti. I love Lutz but I think the belief that he will never leave here because the students “treat” him so well is a bit naive. In my opinion, Lutz would certainly give the State job a long hard look, and I am not sure I could blame him if he did.
That’s cool, it’ll open up the job for Phil Jackson.
does anyone have student attendance numbers for this year or the last few? At the games the student side looks pretty full, it’s the other side that seems to be lacking.

More people like god than lutz. Look at the people who skip Wed. games for church. I don’t know why, but thats how it is.
Anybody who thinks state is that bad a program isn’t looking at the big picture. Also, the expectations aren’t that high. Lutz shouldn’t have to worry about getting canned after 3 years. The reason Herb is getting so much fire is that he has been there 9 years!! Lutz should have ample time to turn the team around before the Lutz haters come for his head. It’s a desireable job. Lutz would stay because Charlotte is his school, but he would go because State is a strong ACC program that happens to have a below average coach at the moment.
