I’m a 2006 grad who moved up to New Jersey to work for Black and Decker. I’m worried I won’t be able to pick up a number of our games and to top it off, I don’t have cable! Can’t afford it. Are there any other Niners out there in New Jersey? I’d love to know so that you could tell me your tricks for finding the games and/or possibly get together to cheer the Niners on! I’ve yet to run into another Niner fan so I feel like convincing a bartender to change it to the Niner game could be a litlte difficult. Thanks guys. Have a good one.
If you find a sports bar with a bunch of TVs and the College BBall package, just ask.
When I lived in New Brunswick I would watch the games at a bar called the Knight Club. Typically only a couple others would be in there on a Saturday afternoon being that it was a college bar / night time scene place. The bartender was cool and was familiar with the Niners.
Last season the games that were on the package were almost always on some cable channel such as CSN or Fox Sports NY, etc. on A-10 TV coverage. Not sure if that is going to change this year with the new deal the A-10 has with CSTV.

go…where are you in Jersey? I moved to Essex county about a year ago
I believe I live in Passaic county. The town is called Wayne. I have a territory of Home Depots that I take care of for my job that span from Totowa to about an hour out in Hackettstown/Newton.

Wayne is about 10 miles from where I’m at in Glen Ridge.
Alumni association had a great event at the Fordham game last year and will repeat every year we play them in the Bronx.
Closest games this year will be Rhode Island, Syracuse and Temple. Last year we had Rutgers up here, great game as was the Fordham game.
I met two Charlotte alum in the city two weeks ago. Good number of us up here.
I met so many people from New Jersey my freshman year. It was crazy. I bet after NC, NJ has the most students at Charlotte.
yeah man, my roommate freshman year was from jersey
Jersey gets a bad rap, but the cost of living and property taxes are out of control.
The majority of the state is very nice, people get a bad impression because they either drive on the NJ Turnpike (I-95) or fly into Newark International Airport, where the surrounding area is all industrial.
I’m from NY and if I can like NJ anyone can…
Is there a NY Metro Area Alumni Association? I went to the Rutgers game last year, but missed the Fordham game.
My wife was born/raised in rural NJ near Far Hills, a beautiful area, by the way. She went to HS with Meryl Streep in Bernardsville. She sometimes misses that area a bit but, loves NC now. When I told her the tourney was going to be in AC, she was NOT impressed and has no interest in going. I would, if the NINERS look like they can make some REAL noise there. Time will tell.

I live in Princeton.
I’ve lived in NC, FLA, CAL, MASS, NY and NJ. Central Jersey is a superb place to live aside from cost of living…could be a little warmer 4 mos out of the year too. I was one of those pummeling NJ because of the I-95 exposure, but know better now. Excellent place to raise and educate a family! Not many better that I’ve seen.
Bad news this season with poor TV coverage. The AC tournament should be an interesting venue.
