New Marketing Campaign

Are they done with it? It needs to have a fake stone at the base to cover up the support structure and so it looks like the pick is in rock.

Damn dude.

It’s a GIANT PICK AXE for our MARKETING CAMPAIGN. And you’re already criticizing it.

Just rejoice that we’re doing any Marketing.

Hard to tell in this pic, but at the bottom of the pick is a Gold Nugget…could have been bigger but I like it

Funny thing is, I was just driving by the front entrance yesterday and I said to myself, “They really need something 49er related at this entrance, maybe a 49er logo painted on one of the columns.” Now today, there is a huge pick axe at the entrance. Awesome!!

I wonder what would happen if I say “3000 FSL’s really need to be sold soon.”

Oh man when their done with that, its soo going in my living room

If anything, complain about the fact that Cha_49’s camera sucks and the picture is so small.

Good to see I’m not the only one.

I personally think that that large of a roundabout deserves something a little bit more grand than a marketing gimmick…

…like a sculpture of Bonnie Cone.

Couldn’t agree more.

That is so awesome!

Good to see I'm not the only one.

No one can ever say anything negative anymore can they? I just like to see things done right.

If you would go back a page, you would see that my first reaction to this marketing item required me to clean man juice out of my pants. Is that not good enough for you?

Good to see I'm not the only one.

I was trying to think of where that statue needs to go a few days ago. That roundabout is nice, especially if the statue ended up being 3-4X scale size, but I feel like the statue should be somewhere people walk a lot and can walk up to it. We could always have two BC statues.

BTW, the new student union needs to be named after Miss Cone. If that isn’t already the plan, we should get a petition going.

Billboard on 77 north between mile 9 and 10 going northbound is in progress.

Pretty cool that going 77 between 9 and 10 you have the football billboard on one side, the stake your claim on the other, and the skyline inbetween.

Sounds like an awesome photo op

New Stake your Claim billboard in progress on North Tryon just before Sugarcreek heading towards town. It is on the right side. So far they have the pick axe up. Will keep you posted what they put on it. I will grab a picture tomorrow on my way in to work.

Aren’t they supposed to be putting another Pick Axe downtown at Trade & Tryon? I walked by there yesterday on my way back from lunch and didn’t see anything.

According to the article posted above, there will be two more pick axes, one located at the airport and the other uptown at the First Citizens’ Plaza uptown.

My company works in First Citizens’ Plaza. This pick axe will not be very big. I did see a green and gold pick axe on a white billboard on 277 at the Graham St. exit.

Here it is, the Pick Axe INSIDE First Citizens’ Plaza:
