New Student Ticket Distribution Plan

Originally posted by 49erFan1@Jul 1 2005, 06:32 PM I think this is an excellent plan in theory and it addresses all of my concerns and then some. I love the online idea, great way to make it easy on lazy students.
Thank you for the rare sign of support for people attempting to improve the current system. 'Change' is a word not often accepted around here.

I am still feeling mixed emotions about the system but I do like a lot of what I am hearing. In short for those of you who still want to camp out a lot (like me) but may not be able to attend a ton of other events not much will change from what I gather.

This is the first I am reading this thread. I think this plan is excellent. It seems to be well thought out and the thing I like about it is that it prevents so-so supporters from getting better tickets than people who are really into it.

I do think the student athletes should keep getting their tickets by pep band. First of all because they deserve them and second, they are pretty brutal fans when placed up close to the visitor bench.

Lemme get this straight…if you’re a student and wanna go to a basketball game, you gotta do ALL that crap?

No........You only have to do the crap to get lower level seats. You can get 200 level (which are also good seats) without doing any of the crap just by walking up to the window before the game. If you spend this much time on NN.net, then you have a couple of minutes in your day to go on 49er express and click some stuff. This is for niners tickets after all.

This is a fair an equitable way to make sure that the most intense and deserving niner fans get front row.

That voting for a name stuff was dumb but this is brilliant. Job well done Judy!!!

some of ya’ll must have fat harry, man wives and small dicks cause you hate everything else in life. I came back to NN.net since 8 weeks ago, and i forgot how much bitching goes on here. you old fat fucks would rather complain about stuff then give positive input to help change it. the online movement is set in stone, but the details aren’t. stop complaining and tell Cmack, or Chisox or myself what you want to see changed and we will bring it up in the next meeting.

“if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”

and to that bnad guy that gets seats or whatever… nice view from behind the goal. you look cute in your uniform too. i hate i cant show up to games real early to tune my flute instead of pregaming at picasso’s or elsewhere… brag about something cool next time

Feel the love?

I didn't mean the brilliant part sarcastically. I really think the whole thing is a good idea.

Damn! Now that’s saying what you think!

The only downside I can see about this whole change is that there is a possiblity that next season will have more sellouts but the same attendance as last year because people can now easily obtain tickets. However, getting tickets to people is at least half the battle.

Because UNC Charlotte is a commuter school (yes people, sorry to say that but it its still a commuter school, even though in 2-3 years it won’t be) the online ticket thing is a BEAUTIFUL plan!

Also, the elimination of frat seating removes the shirt problem of years past AND I can now camp out and get a decent seat instead of like last year where I had camped out for several games before camping out for Cincinatti and then getting stuck in the 2nd level. (arrghghhh).

But most of all, this plan eliminates the problem of 800 friends try to dump IDs off on one guy that camps or wakes up at 6:30 for tickets.

The only question,

Do we still get $5 guest tickets?

The details are being discussed, but as of now, yes, those guest tickets will still be available.

My roomate and his gf did not camp out one time ever, but they were always <12th row in sec. 104. I think you could safely say there were more deserving fans behind him for those good seats (the ones who camped out themselves). The new plan should fix this.

I think someone said this but, I think that everyone should get a ticket for themselves and at max 1 other ticket for 1 friend, but I would allow >2 people to sit together (at least half of them would have to camp or go to the non rev. games etc. I always thought it was dumb how you could have a couple students in one tent and they could get 16 tickets. (Thats a whole row). I thought I read that this was part of the new plan. I hope so.

I am happy that a new plan could be worked out that doesn’t involve randomness. I like how you can dedicate and sacrifice personally and get personal reward in better seats. B)

Is this a joke? Seriously, we are going to the A-10, student interest is going to go way down. Do we really wanna be tinkering with ticket distribution? Lets compare apples to apples so after this season we can see just how big of a s#ithole we got ourselves into.

I got to agree with Hooligan on this one. We had a hard enough time getting a few thousand fans at games when we were in CUSA and the move to the A-10 is going to be an attendace nightmare.

The student support was already shaky-at-best with a strong home conference schedule so why make it more difficult to put students in the seats?

Seems to me that this “new plan” benefits a handful of hard-core fans that cared enough to bitch but, in the long run, will annoy 9 out of 10 casual student fans.

Although your intentions are good, I get so sick of hearing some of you complain that “someone was wearing a tarheel hat” or “a group of 10 wore frat letters”. At least they are showing up which is more than we can say about the rest of the campus. And if they want to wear another teams hat or a color other than green that is their decision, not yours. Just because some of you like to paint your faces or wear niner jersey’s doesn’t mean everyone has to.

This school is at the point where we should be welcoming anyone that cares enough to show up, not making new rules to benefit the minority and enforcing dress codes.

I still believe we should distribute tickets the same as last year, to compare apples to apples, and see just how bad the attendance drops because we are in the A-10. However, this will surely go as another strike against Judy and Co., so the department will push for a change. Desperation.

With this new plan, there could be hundreds of unclaimed lower level tickets distributed at the door on gameday. Online ticketing is a great option, but I just dont believe the ticket office is gonna be putting in for any overtime this season at all. The ticket office has a “Huge Burden!” LMAO! Seems like the bigger burden would be on the staff that goes to all the campouts and tabulates the points. Why not have both options for lower level tickets? And, anybody that camps out and wants to buy $5 guest passes for his buddies to see The Musketeers is should be more than welcome.

Any student can still walk up in the three days prior to any game and get tickets, just like they could last year. I don’t understand how this is adding complications for the “average” fan. It lets students go at separate times and get the same General Admission tickets, it will eliminate the people who don’t want to go because they don’t have a ticket next to their friends. If a large portion of the students will be in GA, it will help get those last minute fans to the game.

There will be plenty of people willing to do all of this computer stuff for thelower level seats . If a student is too busy that they cannot devote just a little time to submitting ticket stuff on the computer then they can get 200 level GA seats. Theres also no excuse for wanting good tickets but then not willing to go to a soccer game to get them. A lot of less intense fans will not even know about the new procedures and they will never know because they will always walk up and get a ticket at the door. For those people, nothing will be complicated and they will not notice a difference.

What a joke! This plan was derived by a few belly achers who love to say “That’s not fair!” Wake up, we are in the A-10 now. Instead of Cincy, Louisville and Memphis coming to town we have got Richmond, LaSalle, and GW. That generates no momentum! See last year when we had a great team how often people were pissed because of low attendance. The bottom line is that students pay for the team. It is their team and their arena. Do what it takes to get a good seat. Don’t design a system that favors camping out. I say make it a free for all, screw the point system and “earning” lower level seats. Go to school, study hard, make good grades, and enjoy a good social life which includes college sports.
And lastly… get a football team an fire Judy!!! I’m done.

Wake up, you are an idiot. You are complaining about people saying something is fair or correct??? Haa. This systems wasnt designed by people saying "its not fair". i actually liked the system we had last year, but we are trying to move towards comptuer(like th rest of the world). That is another problem, half of you bitch before even knowing the story. do you guys still beat it or just get off to complainging about stuff?? And please be done..... idiot
With this new plan, there could be hundreds of unclaimed lower level tickets distributed at the door on gameday.
true. good and bad. Bad because there will be an empty seat... maybe. Good because when someone goes online, request a ticket, then desides they dont want it, it gets thrown back into the system. The next person who request a ticket, will be offered that lower level ticket someone threw away 5 mins ago.... thats just being lucky... you can also go to the ticket office at game time and ask if there are any lower level tickets still open... ok, so it isnt fair average joe gets a lower level ticket but it is filling a lower level seat.
My roomate and his gf did not camp out one time ever, but they were always <12th row in sec. 104. I think you could safely say there were more deserving fans behind him for those good seats (the ones who camped out themselves). The new plan should fix this.

This will solve most all of these problems, excluding guest tickets(which cannot be avioded) Or are there any suggestions on guest tickets?(No whines, just suggestions…)

The student support was already shaky-at-best with a strong home conference schedule so why make it more difficult to put students in the seats?
how is it more difficult to get a ticket?? -Request a ticket online and not even leave your dorm/house Hardness Rating: 2 -Walk to ticket office and ask for a GA seat Hardness Rating: 3 -Pick up GA ticket at Crossroads/RDH Hardness Rating: 1 -Get ticket at door 5 mins before game time Hardness Rating:0

This new system might be confusing in the respect to “loyality” points, but you can still get tickets just like last year. If i am missing something, then do say how it is harder.

Glad to see a few more people are giving suggestions and not crying about shit. I think you guys are just jumping against something without knowing what is really going on. Your comments are stupid, not ya’ll. But really, if there are concerns, then PM me and let em know. I’ll talk to the “committe” about it.
If you want something to change, complaints wont work. Give positive suggestions or dont say anything at all. Give credit to those who are trying to make things better.

The bottom line is that students pay for the team. It is their team and their arena.

Really, so in other words, the students are more important than the alumni, 49er Club members, Dale Halton & everyone else who contributes money as sponsors.

If you really think this way, I’m more than willing to do my part to put the focus on the students.

Sure, I wish this program could generate more money, but maybe you should think how much further in the crapper this program would be without the sponsor money they do get.
