New University Logo

I really hope we didnt spend much on this change! To the naked eye theres not much of a difference!

“By giving equal weight to UNC and Charlotte, the logo takes advantage of two major brand influences – being part of one of the most highly regarded public university systems in the world and the city of Charlotte, one of the most successful cities in the New South, and UNC Charlotte is the flagship institution of the Charlotte region.”

what a joke

Seriously how much money did we waste on the decision of making the letter C smaller? How much will we waste on trying to change out all the letter head, business cards, etc.? Will people still think “UNCC” when they visit our web address of www.uncc.edu? Will they still think “UNCC” when they correspond with PR at the email address of rkmcdevi@uncc.edu

I mean are we really kidding ourselves this much at this school? Seriously, change the name to University of Charlotte, or quit worrying about “UNCC”. It’s called an acronym, you can’t stop it.

They spent a year on that change???

pls tell me this is a joke

UNCC > equally weighted UNC and Charlotte

I thought there was already a thread on this.

I like this one:

Might be, I couldnt find it.

it will at least make it easier for students to cut the crown and unc off of their window stickers.

I was just meaning I didn't think this was new even tho people were reacting that way. Now I'm not sure what I saw.

Anyone who believes this has any value SHOULD BE DISASSOCIATED FROM THE UNIVERSITY IMMEDIATELY.

This logo and its supporting explanation are embarrASSing.

I am getting very afraid that chp’s recommendation on the 18th concerning football will be something totally absurd and something that no one, at this time, can possibly make any sense of.

chp continues to prove HE CAN NOT BE TRUSTED WITH ANYTHING.

I may actually consider a protest by starting to call the school… UNCC. I don’t like it, but maybe if I can get chp’s attention, he might learn the stupidity of his justification for this logo.

Just in case, I'm going to have torches and pitch forks ready to go.

However, I’m confident we won’t be needing them. :49ers:

I bet this major decision took about 10 minutes of research and costed the U atleast $50,000. Same crap different day!

please email rkmcdevi@uncc.edu

and let him know your concerns and frustrations, i did and he answers.

I was told they “put a FEW years into this…”

I thought there was already a thread on this.

There was a discussion about it in the name change campaign thread. This is the Identity Standards Guide that says how the logo can be used:

I overheard an ABSURD amount of money was spent on this…something to the tune of 1/52 of a football stadium…if the stadium cost 52 million.

not positive on this though

I am very hopeful you heard incorrectly, or heard from someone who heard incorrectly. That would be absurd indeed.

We already discussed it in the Name Change Campaign thread…

It’s absolutely embarassing.
