Dax must have forgot about Gerrity in his PG breakdown. Lee should be able to play the 2 exclusively during conference play. My comparison of Whitehurst to EJ was based purely on style of play and body type. Heāll play a lot like EJ. More of a finesse inside player who can also shoot the 12-15 footer.
And the guys are right. Ngoundo and Jones will man the post, both freshman. We need to add a JUCO rebounding machine to give us 25 mpg, 6 rbs and some toughness.
i think gaby would be a very solid back up for phil. Isnāt phil known for blocking shots too? Lefty i included him. I think after second semester that michael and los will be spliting minutes so lee can finally play his natural position.

I think Phaler has more game than he has shown. He has taken some bad shots but really hasnāt played any substantial minutes. I think he has some skills. I wonder if Chisox still believes in him.
well if phaler plays like he did during the summer league, then i personally would be impressed. He didnāt force bad shots nor did he make many bad decisions

Last night I cringed when I saw him get in the game. I love his poise and support for the team. During clutch FTās, he and Ian were the only players standing at the bench. But in his first 5 seconds, he pushed off twice and threw an elbow.
i think our team next year has the potential to be better. we will be bigger, more athletic and still have lee for some scoring. we will struggle to score possibly but maybe not having a āsuperstarā is what we need. i think with the one scholarship we have left to give we should add a juco center. a chris nance type, like they said before, who can give us depth, minutes and toughness.
How many scholarships do we have left after Phil?
I think we have 1 left.
As far as Lewis leaving - heās not going to get any pt next year either but I donāt know if heās going to go anywhere. He redshirted as a freshman so can he even transfer now? You only have 5 years to use your eligibility when you start school, right?
My question is who besides Lee is going to score next year? Who are option 2 and 3? Carlos maybe as 2? Iām hoping a year under his belt will calm him down some, itās going to have to. I like Ian but heās going to have to grow a lot to be a 2nd or 3rd option in his sophmore year. Everybody else is either new or had very little pt this year.
i think phil will automatically be given the green light to do what ever he wants in the paint
Hey, that sounds good to me - itās just a lot to ask of a freshman to come in and be one of your top 3 scorers. We may not have much of a choice though. The good thing about doing that is it does help prepare us later down the road.

Sounds good to me. But will Chisox and Jason continue to let him shoot threes? :wow:
Guysā¦I donāt wonāt to come off as this negative āPisserā, but the fact of the matter is that we will suck next yearā¦even worse than this year. We are losing 5 seniors, including Alexander and Drayton and the incoming class is sub par. I donāt expect us to win more than 10-12 games next year. Our level of recruiting has bottomed out and Lutz is trying to run the same run and gun offense he always has with inferior athletes. No signs of life hereā¦sadly.
if you count Phil as part of the incoming class (although I donāt know why anyone might not), we have a 4 star player, three 3 star players, and a PG that has proven he can play D1 basketball with a reasonable level of success. The only two players weāre really losing are DA and EJ. Those are big losses, but weāre not really losing some of those players. A loss is something that hurts your team. Losing Jamison, Williams, Coleman, and Gordon doesnāt count IMO. Losing them (except Gordon) might actually be a plus. We might send less people to the foul line. The only thing we can count on from Coleman and Williams is 5-10 fouls and a few points. I think Leemire can almost make up DAās points if heās not running the point and hopefully Dewhurst and/or Andersen with more playing time can come close to equaling Leemireās totals from the last two years. I donāt know if it will happen, but I donāt think its out of the question, especially if Andersen gets more play time. I really canāt imagine Phil not putting up at least as many points as Coleman and Williams combined. Hopefully the combo of Wilderness, Whitehurst, and Gaby can at least equal the totals EJ put on this year. It would be pretty sad if 3 players canāt make up for one. At worst, I think weāll be as bad as this year. We might be better, but I cannot imagine us being worse. Iām just glad weāre getting players that play inside next year. Dewhurst likes to drive, Wilderness is more of a driving to the basket player than an outside shooter, Gerrity supposedly likes to drive as well, and Phil is a true post player. Hell, we might even see the end of senseless three pointers next year. Even if weāre just as bad as this year, if we can manage to play a more complex offense than throwing up terrible hurried 3 pointers, I would be satisfied. It would at least indicate we are on the right track IMO.

Actually Gordon did more for this team than anyone can ever imagine. His main role on the team was gpa booster. His ability to maintain a 3.0 and better through out his college kept our school from losing scholarships. so personally i think we need someone to be able to fill the void that he is leaving. We need another gpa booster on our team.
