Next Years Team

can someone please give me a quick run down on next years team. for example who are the starters, back ups, and some of the new recruits. will be attending next year and really want to start learning and following this team. thank you

right now we have…

starters:
Leemire Goldwire

Backups:
The rest of the team

but a crapload of recruits that sound like they can really help the team - ill let someone else give the rundown on that

No mention of big Phil Jones, zerogeneticsdc1?

our top returning player will be shooting guard leemire goldwire. he will be expected to carry the load early for a team that lost four starters and will be very young. the good news is that we have 9 new players on the team next year and our class is ranked 13th. in the country by hoopscoop. here is the list of the new guys on the team next year.
pg mike gerrity transfer from pepperdine where he was the wcc’s freshmen of the year. can score, athletic, can dish, penetrate. he will be eligible second semester. dijuan harris. preferred walk on pg. chose to walk on so we could save a scholarship. had offers from app. st., north texas and a few others. lightning quick.
sg javarris barnett. 6’6" sg who is an excellent three point shooter. great upside and potential. charles dewhurst. was a freshmen last year but didnt play much because of injury. eventually redshirted. athletic, slasher.
sf charlie coley. 6’7" juco player. considered the most athletic juco player in the country. has a 41" vertical. lamont mack 6’7" juco player. slasher, athletic, good defensive player.
pf anjuan wilderness 6’6". undersized but a great rebounder. incredibly athletic, long arms, great passer. plays with great tenacity. reminds people of former forty niner great eddie basden. slasher who will show us some highlight reel dunks. gaby ndgoundo. 6’7". originally from cameroon. only been playing organized ball for two years. athletic, great rebounder, huge hands, has a 7’3" wingspan, great upside, plays hard, big time shot blocker.
c phil jones was ineligible to play last year because of grades. the 15th. ranked center in the country coming out of high school. good size, good rebounder, will finish in the paint. will give us the post presense that we have been lacking.
guys we are losing
deangelo alexander sg. big time scorer who came here with big expectations. didnt quite live up to that. sometimes hogged the ball. could have played harder at times.
jerrell jamison sf. didnt really contribute until senior season. played harder than probably anyone on the team. athletic. good defensive player. no threat on offense.
e.j. drayton pf. our best player last season. worked hard to overcome injurys. was unstoppable at times. excellent rebounder, athletic and leader of the team. big loss.
carlos williams pg. no 1 juco guard in the country. came in with big expectations. was disappointing. transfered.
david booker pf. little used freshmen. slow, unathletic. transferred for more playing time. didnt fit into our system. former gatorade mr. basketball in mississippi.
courtney williams pf. somewhat of a disappointment. didnt really contribute like we hoped.
travis gordon sg. little used walk on.
this years team will look a lot different. a lot of new faces. i am optimistic because this seems to be our best class in a while. the team will be athletic, have size and have good defensive players. we will count on goldwire for a lot of the scoring. this years schedule will be exciting as we will be playing four acc teams, high point who is the favorites to win the big south, app. st. who almost made the ncaa tournament last year, southern illinois who is always in the tournmanet, etc. the starting lineup could have a variety of looks. here is my projection
first semester
pg goldwire
sg andersen
sf coley
pf mack
c jones
second semester when gerrity is eligible
pg gerrity
sg goldwire
sf coley
pf mack
c jones
this team will be loaded at sf so whoever starts in not guarenteed to get a lot of minutes.
the roster
pg gerrity, harris, lewis, church
sg goldwire, andersen, barnett
sf coley, phaler, dewhurst
pf mack, wilderness, gaby
c jones

Not only that but why a recap on non-returnees? DA, EJ, Booker, etc. are history and not part of next year’s team.

I hereby request any post that is not ADD friendly be replaced with a photo of the pole vault girl.

When was the last time the niners put a team we knew so little about on the floor? I mean really…the only the we can count on is Lee. Even the guys that played last year (Ian, Dew, Bones) are questions marks!

With that said…this is the most excited I have been for niner basketball since Eddie and Plavs senior year!

Yeah, I could care less about our record this year. Last year our record was frustrating, because we expected soo much more.

This yeah, its gonna be exciting watching fast plan and amazing acrobatics I expect to be displayed.

I hope we can score, and if we have trouble there, we better play some G.D. defense with all those 6’6 clones.

I second that.
