It seems the NHL is doing something the NBA & NFL didn’t dare do in their lock-out, send you to the minors for lower pay. The NBA didn’t send anyone to the NBDL, and the NFL didn’t send anyone to the Arena League. If I were a NHL player, I would play in Russia in the KHL before I take a demotion to the AHL.
