I’m an old, long-time, raving NINER fanatic. Observer coverage has improved this year by LIGHT YEARS. As for today’s blip, I’m already over it. Let’s beat the coogs!!! (and hope there’s some coverage for our game tonight, because we all know who’s gonna get the big color, front page(s) pix tomorrow.) Hint: there will be a lot of blew, uhh, blue in them.
You all missed the line. Not only did we get two sentences on one page but there was a line on the game(us by 10 pts i think) on another page. Give the observer credit for the line. Gosh.
Am I mistaken, or did we not get our pre-game story yesterday (Pender’s comments), probably in anticipation of today being full of ad nausium Dook v Tarhole stories.
I’m not saying that is right by us, but it was pre-game coverage.
Maybe next time they can run one of the lesser Dook v Tarhole stories a day early to give fans advance warning to adjust the tv antenna on the trailer. Then there could be room for our story on game day.
I see about 7" of blank space below NBA standings. Good thing all that space is unused. My eyes were getting tired looking at all those words.
Houston has the conference's only win against league-leading Louisville and is coming off wins against Saint Louis and Memphis. Charlotte is 8-2 in home games this season, with wins in the past six at Halton Arena.
Looks like kind of a puff piece to me. Not really very hard-hitting journalism.

It promoted the game and the bobblehead but I don't understand why it was placed in the local section. Besides that game sells out anyway, I wouldn't have wasted advertising for that game. It would have been better served for tonight's game. Great point!!! More brilliant marketing.

It took me a few minutes to find our sentence this morning. <_< Exactly, I've found more information on this great site then all the years combined reading the Observer. I'm glad I found a forum of informed Niner fans.

Where is Persinger to defend his rag? Or appologize?
Thanks Lefty!
Both my mother and father are graduates from Charlotte, and I plan on attending after receiving my RN from Gaston College. I’ve been a fan of the Niners since I was little and its nice to find a place with like minded people. B)
Knowing we would have lots of Duke-UNC stuff today, we did our Niners-Houston stuff in Tuesday’s paper, and just a capsule today. Agree or disagree, that’s what we chose to do. Sometimes games are only worth a capsule. We saw this as one.
Called that one.
