This weekend was incredibly annoying, losing two out of three to a team that we are clearly better than, but a few things to keep in mind.

  1. Our starting rotation consists of a junior, two sophomores, and a true freshman.
  2. Our starting lineup is also loaded down with underclassmen, with only three seniors.
  3. Arguably our best player has been out for three weeks.

Weā€™re good, but we are young and we have obstacles to overcome. One frustrating weekend does not a season make.

We have a natl POY type hitter hurt. Thatā€™s a killer. Heā€™s a game changer- Lyerly. He hit a bomb his first ab at Clem. Now we play small ball to score.

Our def is suspect, but fixable. We will be fine. I blame much of this on top 25 votes. Young teams get cocky and think they are ā€œthat goodā€ instead of remaining hungry.

We play at Winthrop on Tuesday and at unc-tarholeville on Wednesday. I canā€™t make the game at tarholeville, but Iā€™m planning on going down to Winthrop on Tuesday.

Is anyone else going to Winthrop? Does Metro or anyone know anything about their stadium? Iā€™m getting ready to look up the info.

Winthrop has some sweet digs. We played a series there in 2007 before Hayes reopened.

Iā€™ll be in Chapel Hill on Wednesday night with the girlfriend - we may not be speaking during the game, though.

Just read the synopsis of the game yesterday. And just as I said in this thread. the ball has eyes or doesnā€™t some days. Fordham had 5 double playsā€¦unheard of. Those ground ball could of been 5 singles. It happens. Thats freakish. Blind squirrels find acorns. Of course Andrew Smith got shelled, that should not happen.

either way, losing 2/3 is not excusable. We will have Lyerly back soon and go on a major roll, bank it.

Iā€™m going to Winthrop tomorrow night. Their stadium is sweet. They took 2 out of 3 from Coastal this weekend. Weā€™re going to have our hands full this week with them and Chapel Hill.
