It looks like the guys will get a shot at some of these top teams this weekend at their tournament at Purdue. Hope they can keep being a force on the national scence to show last season wasn’t a fluke.

The field this weekend will include #2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 14, 16, 17, 18, 21, 25, and ARV members Minnesota and Purdue. Best field we have ever played in the regular season.
We finished T3. 9 is an insult. We are better coach. Go show 'em!
SCK, the Florida Gators won the NCAA tournament last year, but likely won’t sniff preseason top 25 this year. We lost a couple key players. #9 is awesome. Hopefully we can move on up to #1.

Only one guy I thought… Oh well. Either way.
Have we ever been ranked this high in any other sport? I don’t think so. Getting a vote for #1 is sweet. Who votes in this poll? Who gave us the lone #1 vote? Give that guy a beer!!
Now for the down side: For some strange reason, historically when Charlotte teams start getting the high rankings and the pub, we promptly fall flat on our face. Hope not this time. GO NINERS!!

Men’s Soccer in 96. We were #2 in the country and went to the “Final Four”. We were also ranked the following two years as well. But, since the soccer program has gone waaaaaaaaay down hill.

I knew we went to the Final Four, but I don’t remember the soccer polls around that time. In '77 the b-ball team went to the FF, but was not ranked any higher than 16th, and that was very late in the year, if not AFTER we beat #1 Michigan in The Dance.

I have a Charlotte News headline from three days after the Michigan game that shows us voted #3 in an AP poll - not sure it was THE official AP poll, though. I had the top four as UNC-CH, UNLV, us, and then Marquette.
