Niner Golf #9 in nation

[I]
It looks like the guys will get a shot at some of these top teams this weekend at their tournament at Purdue. Hope they can keep being a force on the national scence to show last season wasn’t a fluke.

NICE!! :49ers::thumbsup::clap::toast:

Does that (1) mean we received a first place vote?!?!?!

Have we ever received a first place vote in anything?

No, JFelt. We are officially a golf school.

I would think our mens soccer team did back in the early 90s. I might be wrong though.

We finished T3. 9 is an insult. We are better coach. Go show 'em!

The field this weekend will include #2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 14, 16, 17, 18, 21, 25, and ARV members Minnesota and Purdue. Best field we have ever played in the regular season.

SCK, the Florida Gators won the NCAA tournament last year, but likely won’t sniff preseason top 25 this year. We lost a couple key players. #9 is awesome. Hopefully we can move on up to #1.

Way to go guys!

Only one guy I thought… Oh well. Either way.

Have we ever been ranked this high in any other sport? I don’t think so. Getting a vote for #1 is sweet. Who votes in this poll? Who gave us the lone #1 vote? Give that guy a beer!!
Now for the down side: For some strange reason, historically when Charlotte teams start getting the high rankings and the pub, we promptly fall flat on our face. Hope not this time. GO NINERS!!

In the mid '90’s we were #1 as a team & I as an individual 4 straight years.
I beat some nobody named Tiger.

Have another brewski, S/C/K.

Men’s Soccer in 96. We were #2 in the country and went to the “Final Four”. We were also ranked the following two years as well. But, since the soccer program has gone waaaaaaaaay down hill.

Page 1 Duke Ranked 13th in Poll Heels Also Receive Votes
And then the sports editor will respond "Why are you upset. We will mention you were ranked when we do the yearly Niner Golf article in the Spring".

Ok, maybe I got carried away, but…

CONGRATULATIONS GOLFERS !

I knew we went to the Final Four, but I don’t remember the soccer polls around that time. In '77 the b-ball team went to the FF, but was not ranked any higher than 16th, and that was very late in the year, if not AFTER we beat #1 Michigan in The Dance.

When will Jamie Green be named UNCC AD/UNCC Chancellor/UNC System Pres./UNCC Football Coach/NC Gov.?

I sincerely hope that he won’t be named anything beginning with “UNCC”.

UNCC’s golf program died years ago…the Charlotte 49er Golf program is rising like a phoenix from its ashes all the way to #1 in the nation.

I have a Charlotte News headline from three days after the Michigan game that shows us voted #3 in an AP poll - not sure it was THE official AP poll, though. I had the top four as UNC-CH, UNLV, us, and then Marquette.
