Niner Nation, Beasley on Charlotte.com

he'll turn pro first

Where’s he gonna go? Overseas? NBDL?? He’ll go college a year (at least). And right now we’ve got a better chance than anybody. You gotta think positive…

I’m not skeptical of Beasley…I’m skeptical that his connection (Dalonte) won’t be here…which means Beasley won’t be here.

Two very probable situations may arise.

1- Lutz leaves…takes Dalonte with him. Beasley follows. Lutz has been looking for a change and more money. If we have a breakout year this year…he’s as good as gone. Which means Dalonte’s gone…which means Beasley’s gone. I think it’s a no-brainer that if Lutz leaves…he makes sure to take his Beasley connection (Dalonte) with him.

2- Dalonte gets a better offer somewhere else. I bet we pay Dalonte $30K per year. You know that some school would double his salary for his connection to the DC AAU players…especially Beasley.

I have no doubt in Beasley wanting to play here for Dalonte. I just don’t think Dalonte will be here in '07…which means…No Beasley in '07.

Not pessimistic…just realistic.

I have no idea how much we pay him, but I bet it's a good bit more than that. I hope so anyways.

Of course, we could always just hire Delonte as head coach if Bobby leaves.

Was thinking the same thing. He’s probably not ready, but it might be worth it with the players he can bring in.

I’ve got a VERY strong feeling we pay Delonte more than 30k a year. My God, thats min wage for someone who puts in the hours these guys do!

49ers recruit dominates

Michael Beasley, the highly touted high school junior who's committed to play basketball for the Charlotte 49ers, is the real thing. What strikes me about him is how smooth and polished he is. His hands are huge. He holds the ball as if it's a grapefruit.

I hope I'm wrong....but...Beasley will never play one minute here because (A) he'll turn pro first or (B) Lutz (Delonte?) will be gone before he comes here. :( Why do you even get up in the morning?
So I can occasionally inject some reality into the pipedreams I see around here.

Beasley did say he liked the school besides Delonte and that if Dalonte wasn’t here he would still consider it. So its not a sure thing that “No dalonte” means “No beasley” although it is probably more than likely.

Grandma’s kitchen is niner friendly. Sometimes we even watch games at dinner.
