This may be a dumb idea, but what about establishing a set of criteria that designate an eating establishment as "Niner Nation Friendly" and then they get some sort of special designation and/or sign to display. There could even be different levels, maybe the sponsors get a higher designation than a place that just simply throws up some 49er decorations...

Here are links that I don’t believe require registration as the registration/login seems to be timing out for me…

Niner Nation

Oak Hill Star

That sounds like it’s about as firm of a committment as you can get!

Lutz told everyone to play fast so he could finish before going up to Lenoir to watch a very important high school game. He should have taken JimmyHat, Pi, MK, and #1 beer girl to fend off Pitino and the other clowns trying to get in on Mike B.

didn’t harmon play last night as well? any word on him?

Picassos is already Niner Nation friendly.

They are the whole reason the thing exists. What ever credit Lex and I get (which probably wont be any), Don deserves as well.

If the school is going to do something involving niner nation and a dining establishment, I would hope that PIcs would be the first place they look.

This was from the Dave Telep article posted by 49erblh.

Future Charlotte 49er Kenyan Harmon scored 19 points as did teammate Jeremy Hazell, an Oral Roberts commitment.
Harman, a slashing athletic type, and Hazell, a big time wing shooter, played consistently well.

Nice articles by the Observer.

Here we go.

More Observations from Langston

including…

• Patterson's high school team beat Goldsboro's Charis Prep 96-88 before Patterson's prep team (fifth-year seniors) played Oak Hill. Charlotte 49ers recruit Kenyan Harmon, a 6-7, 190-pound senior at Patterson, had 16 points, five rebounds, three steals, and showed nice 3-point shooting range.

It says Harmon’s a senior. He’s slated for the class of 2007 with Beasley so I assume he’ll stay at Patterson next year for prep.

Also from Langston…

Oak Hill had a chance to tie at the end of regulation, but (Patterson fifth-year senior Davon) Jefferson put an nasty block on Michael Beasley's left-handed attempt, caught the ball near midcourt and threw down an emphatic one-handed slam at the buzzer.
Hmmm...

Sounds a bit unfair with a team of 5th year seniors hiding out until draft day playing against an (albeit elite) high school team.

Apparently Patterson has 2 teams, a prep team and a High School team. Harmon plays on the high school team.

More from Langston:

Kenyon is slender and looks to me like EJ. He's got a nice game. Good hops, good range, pretty athletic....Beasley should be called BEASTley. Kid's unreal.

I invited him over here. He joked about the treatment Niner fans usually give him.

I can’t wait to see this kid play…I just hope people don’t have unrealistic expectations on him…it will be hard for him to live up to the hype.

I think it would be great if he did come on the board. I have nothing against him and also really enjoyed his article about Beasley. I'd much rather have him on here. I think he would actually be pretty honest and informative with us, as well as actually respecting our views.

Ok, who’s paying Langston? That’s a joke! He led his weekly commentary piece with Beasley again.

49ers recruit dominates

Michael Beasley, the highly touted high school junior who's committed to play basketball for the Charlotte 49ers, is the real thing. What strikes me about him is how smooth and polished he is. His hands are huge. He holds the ball as if it's a grapefruit.

I hope I'm wrong....but...Beasley will never play one minute here because A. he'll turn pro first or B. Lutz (Delonte?) will be gone before he comes here. :(
