Niners Beat Indiana

I’m sick of reading all these posts about horrible shot selection, bad inside game, crybaby Lutz. We just beat Indiana! We have been close the last several years and now we’ve done it. Yes, we could have played a better game - but we could have played worse too. Indiana has lost 6 in a row, but to the casual fan, this was a huge win. And we get pub on ESPN’s top play of the day! The Wal-mart Carolina fan, your Uncle Joe and your Mom all will think this was a bigger win than say the Southern Illinois game last year.

Bobby’s not perfect. Who is? I’m not. But he wants to win as much if not more than any of us here.

Then stop reading.

Just trying to be positive 49erpi. Great win that could really ignite the team and our fans. I will celebrate this Christmas present! As a coach, I will also be looking for improvement.

You are obviously new around here, I’ll give you a few quick rules to follow for future posts.

  1. Never be satisfied. The biggest, simply don’t be happy with any outcome of any game, period.
  2. Never post about a victory without having a “but” either in the title or as the first word in the actual post.
  3. Never post about a loss without mentioning poor officiating. Causually drop in a mention about the ref’s being from another conference, a subtle thing, but a must.
  4. It’s always Bobby’s fault. Don’t put any thought whatsoever into this, none. If you start thinking about it you will realize that without Lutz who knows what players will be suiting up every night. Just don’t think, when a player misses a shot it’s Lutz’s fault(except with Plavich, see next rule about him).
  5. It’s alright to give Plav a small compliment after a great game, such as “good shot vs Indiana”, but that isn’t complete. You must also bring up every missed shot he has every put up at Charlotte. Here is the correct way to discuss the Indiana game: “That was a good shot Plavich had, but if he had made one more in the Rutgers game we would be playing for a National ranking and our morale for the Bama game would have been higher so we probably would have won that game too.”
  6. When Withers has a bad game, act happy because you can pretend it is hurting his NBA prospects(like he would actually go pro after this year).
  7. When Iti has a bad game, laugh at him for wanting to play in the NBA. When he has a good game, a simple “about time” is all that is needed.
  8. Our PG is never good enough.
  9. Early in the season, most likely after midnight madness, at the latest after the first exhibition game, pick a bench player who you must fight for the rest of the season. Doesn’t matter who it is, doesn’t matter how many minutes they get, they should always be playing more. It doesn’t matter that Drayton and Nance are the only regulars shooting under 40% for the season, they need more minutes for the 49ers to win!
  10. Make unfair comparisons of new players to former 49ers. This is a must because it is completely unthinkable that a new player isn’t exactly similar to a previous 49er. This also adds to your reputation by dropping names of older 49 players, drop the name of any player from the 80’s automatically raises your reputation on this board.

I think that’s enough for now, it’s quite a complicated board, but just read for a while and soon you will be bitter enough to become a regular!

Butter, that was a quality quality post. Anyway to add that to the terms/agreement of the site that you have to agree to before registering a name?! hahahahaha.

Thanks for the tip Butter.

Cornbread was pathetic.

Good try Gas, but I forgot to mention a key part of rule 10: Any former 49er > And current 49er. For example, “Leemire Goldwire is Demon Brown, but not nearly as strong or as good of a ball handler.” or “EJ Drayton is like Chris Howard but without the defense.” That was my mistake for leaving that part out.

 Nice post Butter! Spot on!

Quality

Perfecto Butter. You need to add the part about the rah-rah clan. Watch out for them. :o

I would like to see a disclaimer added, esp for anyone outside of our little community who reads it.

Disclaimer: Contrary to what you may read in this public forum…Niner Nation is really not this pessimistic. Most people really do support the program, the coach and the players.

Don’t forget the personal I’m better than the typical niner fan because I have seen every Home game since Moses wore short pants. Attendence bashing is key. Also Step child to the ACC is important.

football questioning is a must… although this is our Charlotte 49ers Sports Forum and i dont remember seeing Picks on football helmets… GREAT POST… hahaha

Forgot those, but they are definitely key. You also need to make sure to call out other 49er fans, specifically a person or group that shows up to every game but does something you don't like(and yes, it's acceptable, actually expected, that you continue complaining about overall attendence while you call out a group such as the frats who show up every game).

And a note on the ACC, when reffering to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Tarheels, you must NOT at ANY point refer to they as UNC or Carolina, even if the rest of the country accepts them as going by either name, because calling them UNC or Carolina somehow insults the Charlotte 49ers. Acceptable names include Chapel Hill, the Tar Holes and UNCCH. Previewing your posts before submitting will allow to catch any errors in name calling.
