Surprised there isnāt a thread yet. I believe this game will tell us what kind of team we have much moreso than the 250+ RPI teams weāve played so far have. Davidson is always extremely well coached and has smart players. This year they are a little more post oriented, so I hope Braz, KJ, and JB bring their A-game on defense.
Iām thinking we will win by just a few points, but we will have to work for it.
For anyone interested I am brining the Normbulance out at 3:30 Saturday to the surface lot down the hill from the Union and will be tailgating until about 6:30. Everyone is welcome to join me!

Green lights flashing, Call Me Al blaring over the speakersāthat says Niner Madness to me.
This is going to be a tough, physical game. We need to take it to them before they take it to us, especially since itās at home. FTs are going to be KEY. I wouldnāt be surprised if we see some scuffles and a few players (Braz?) foul out. We NEED this win.
BTW: we have NEVER sold out a dāson game (as a āhome gameā) no matter where it has been played. Makes NO sense.

Really? WOW - I have been to a few that were pretty full. I believe you, but still surprising. The last Leemire-Curry shootout game was pretty full.

Yep, the last time we met and beat Curry was pretty close to a sellout.

Even at the old, old (Bojangles) Coliseum, we did not sell out (11,666) vs dāson when the series started. Yes, the '07 games was the closest to a SO.
We never sold those out, because until recent years Davidson was never a ābig gameā for us no matter how much people talked about the Hornets Nest Trophy. Until 2006, we played at least 10 home games with more importance every season. Now, we dont play the Cincys and Louisvilles of the world. Couple that with Davidson finally becoming relevant during our nosedive and suddenly it is more important than it used to be.
Truth, from the time I started at Charlotte in 1991 to the Leemire game I did not really care about the LOLCats. Their fans really made me start hating them through the whole Curry crap, then the scheduling garbage pissed me off even more. I was all for never playing them again, but since we renewed the series we might as well beat the crap out of those smug bastards.

If youāre an old fart like me, you remember how good Mike Malloy and Lefty Driesellās Wildcats were. They were terrific. Davidson has some history. So do we. This SHOULD be important. Therefore, it is to meā¦
Lefty Driessel had some great teams at Davidson, and some of those Malloy led teams came close to making it to the Final 4. The SoCon was tougher back then too, with teams like West Virginia still in it.
BTW, their fans have no room to talk about any team not selling out an arena.
