Noel Johnson Class of 2009

When you’re in the top 5 stats for PGs two? years in a row, I think you’ve proven yourself.

who cares if the "walk on" crap comes back. let people talk. it doesnt make dijuan a lesser player. in fact, i think if he does in fact do it, it will bring out more from the other guys because they know this guy will do anything for the team.

Also, it could help Dijuan down the road if he does want to land an assistant coaching job in the near future, be it here (I hope) or anywhere else.

IF Dijuan chose to volunteer his scholarship and Noel took it and the team won big time, the media would eat that **** up. And rightly so.

I have never heard in my life of any player sacrificing or asked to sacrifice his financial aid for another player. Yall can stop that silliness. IMHO

I wager someone is leaving. No info, just gut.

$5 says someone is giving up their schollie.

i’d be willing to bet that dijuan has volunteered his schollie to noel johnson if he should choose to come here. it also would not surprise me if someone left…but i think the former is more likely than the latter.

Either Wes Miller or Bobby Frasier did it as UNC.

thats just unreasonable and void of logic, almost makes me skeptical. So lets say player A gives up nearly 10k per year for this guy, something on the back end has to be done. Thats not an accusation, but this just does not happen.

its happened before probably, for kids like Michael Jordan’s kid at Illinois. I have no idea if he’s on a ride or walk on status, but I even have trouble believing his ego would let it happen.

this is bizarre if it happens

can I say this as a parent who expects a scholarship from his child in a few years:

IT WOULD NOT BE DIJUAN VOLUNTEERING THE SCHOLARSHIP, it would be his mom and dad forfeiting 10k.

it doesnt seem that bizarre to me if it is dijuan. he seems like the type of kid that would do that.

link, I'd like to learn about that. I don't pay attention to their affairs.

Fully understand your viewpoint. it is quite illogical. I just dont see anyone else leaving the program.

Coleman? he’s a sr, why would he leave?

JB? already sat out a year, would lose one if he left(unless he went d2 or d3).

Dewhurst? only possibility I can see is that his injury isnt healing properly and he is medically forced to pull out.

Phil? paid his way for a year to play for us. no way is he leaving.

Dijuan? not leaving.

Shamari? just becoming eligible

Someone leaving makings even less sense than someone giving up a scholarship.

I think Wes Miller might have, definetely not Frasor. Miller was orginally a walk on who only got a scholly after someone unexpectedly went pro I believe.

perhaps I’m wrong, I thought I remembered a chapel hill player giving up a scholarship so someone else could sign.

I know several seniors that walked away for 1 yr. Dalonte Hill, Carlos Williams come to mind. Iti might of been a SR too, can’t remember.

again, the "kid" does not make the decision. Moms and Dads make this call.

You’re acting like this is impossible, it has happened at other schools and is not completely unheard of. As far as something Harris would be receiving in return, I can’t see this hurting his chances at being offered a position on Lutz’s staff after this season.

you've been posting how long? you've seen how many players come and go? Its never happened in the 19 yrs I have followed Niner hoops.

certainly not impossible, but ALMOST unheard of.

I stick to my guns, that its not a player’s decision. Mom and Dad have to stroke the check.

Hold on, I know I went to UNCC a long time ago, but it is $10,000 to go a year for room and board now?

Beyond that, Metro I do agree with you a lot, but coming out of college with 10 grand in loans for a college kid (aka not mom and dad paying) is pretty damn good. I know you were a schollie player, but for the normal college kid that is a damn good number to finish with.

its actually more in the $11-12,000 range depending on whether you get a meal plan.
