Normbulance Evolution

I had the pleasure of seeing the WupAssBulance for the first time last night. What an impressive looking piece of machinery it was.

I think that vehicle needs to lead the team onto the field, with sirens going and green lights flashing.

Normbualance 1-0.

Normbulance is now 2-0 at Niner events, 1-0 at Panther games so 3-0 is not bad.

The trip to Greenville was great. Had an awesome group of 6 Niners a long for the ride. We got back to Charlotte Niner89 cleaned it out and there was no vomit in the back ;D

You will need to have a LOKO detector for all who wants to ride in the Normbulance to prevent ā€œaccidentā€ from happening.

Have you had any luck finding a 49ers fathead (or similar) decal for the Normbulance?

I have one but I cannot recall where I got it from. Seems like they are hard to come by.

I looked but haven’t found any. I do have someone getting me some large decals though. Just waiting on him to finish them up. Once those are done then I will get some lettering on - NORM 3:16, NORMBULANCE backwards on the hood, ninernation.net on it somewhere and a few other things. I just have to get the decals first to make sure the lettering flows well.

They’ll make you a custom fathead, but I’m sure they’ expensive.

They will with a letter from the school allowing them to. Because it is a TM that they don’t have a deal with I have to get all the permission. I opted not to try to jump through all those hoops given how our school is.

I am thinking about designing a Normbulance logo though and if I do that I will have them make one of them.

SkinIt also does custom graphics for Autos.

Normbulance was 49 miles away from invading UNC-Greenville. ;D

Cool. If you’re ever on I-85 going north and 49 miles from Charlotte near Blacksburg, SC, check out the mileage sign saying ā€œCharlotte 49ā€. I took a pic of that sign 30 years ago.

I need to get some pics of the new additions on here!

I just wanted to take a moment and thank everyone that has helped out with this thing. Some of you have donated stuff like a fridge or some cups, some of you have brought food and alcohol to share with everyone, some of you have donated your time to work on it and get it ready and some of you have donated some money to help defray costs. Most importantly though you have all come out!

I just want to thank you all for the support. When I bought it I was 50/50 on if it was actually a good idea or not. Thanks to all of you it has been more than I could hope for. If I had bought this thing - said I am going to tailgate and then sat there by myself it would have been a disaster. Thankfully that has not been the case! We are truly building the traditions that will survive long past us. Each tailgate grows by about 10 people and the diversity of the group increases. By 2013 the core group will be strong and the passion and excitement will be off the charts. I got an email from Mike Hummer today saying he had talked to people that came to the tailgate and that they said they had a great time. So word is spreading. Let’s keep this thing rolling all the way to 2013 and beyond!

I had not seen this! Dude that is awesome!

Tailgate crew, so you guys know, we left the tailgate after about 45 minutes to grab dinner. We had a great time. My 2 year old son had such a good time that when we put him in the car and started to drive off he cried more than I have seen in a long time. He loved the atmosphere and most of all the Normbulance. Great job on everything Rob. If you need a hand on any electrical stuff just let me know.

I had not seen this! Dude that is awesome![/quote]He actually strapped himself in with the seatbelt at one point. I didn’t know he even knew what a seat belt is since he rides in a car seat all of the time. He loved it.

Next Sat game is Feb 11 (Rhode Island) at 2. I’ll be there about 10:30. These tailgates are more fun than our games.

That is right!

We will plan on heading out there around 10AM - takes a little bit of time to get everything set up! If the weather pattern holds we will have another good group. Don’t let the chill in the air scare you off either - the Normbulance comes equipped with a heater! Will be making a few changes to it before the next one.

You guys are doin’ it right. I admire your spirit and how you’re passing it down to the Li’ll NINERS of the future. Can’t wait to see y’all in action during football season and hoping the spirit spreads. 8)

So Homecoming tailgate was a success! The school attempted to throw a wrench in our plans, but we worked through it. For those who haven’t made it to any of the tailgates or are not friends with Norm Bulance on FB here are some recent pictures showing the additions of the Bar and 32 inch TV! If you haven’t made it out to any of the basketball tailgates plan on joining us in a few weeks when the Niners take on the Bonnies!!

Next on the to do list (aside from check on the graphics) is to swap out the generator with a bank of batteries. Generator is too loud and the fumes I think we getting on people’s nerves.

So EEs - I am thinking 4 car or deep cycle marine batteries. What kind of inverter do I need to power the LCD tv, a fridge and on occasion a microwave? Thoughts?

Once we have the power situation figured out I can work on the keg! ;D
