We are setting back up next to Portal again this season. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us. We have a community beer cooler and usually food available with donations welcomed but never expected. We are typically set up 4 hours before kick - regardless of kickoff time. Come for the shots hang out for the Niner talk and friendship. If you dont want to drag out tailgate stuff or you don’t have anyone to tailgate with - you are always welcome with us and no buyin is ever required.
Next year parking is going to get all changed up so might be last year in this location.
Is there any information you can share about how the parking situation may change in 2027? At this point, the tailgate is about the only part of the football experience I look forward to… it’d be a shame to see a change for the worse.
Its going the other way. A lot of current ellipse folks are going to get booted out. The suites come with parking spots, which means the area around the stadium will likely become even more dead. The folks that have been parking near the stadium could get moved out. I have no info on the details just that suites come with spots and the entire parking structure is going to get changed.
The fencing already has signage showing that the middle entrance (next to where Normbulance used to set up) will not be open. Expect entrance delays at Gates 1 and 3 and plan accordingly.
Based on what I have been told that entrance will not be reopening for general seating. It will be exclusive to suite and premium seating ticket holders.
It should remain open to FSL owners regardless of where they sit. If you are in a green seat you should be able to use that gate.
The dynamic around Gate 2 will change with the upper deck seats as many will choose to eat in the club since they are paying for it. BTW - my understanding is that the club opens 90 minutes prior to kickoff.
It is normal to have an assigned gate for entrance to a college football stadium, but I worry about funneling too much traffic through the other two gates.
I think they would do well to elimnate the whole ellipse parking around the stadium and build a tailgate village like the students have. You could solve the problem of empty parking spots and and build a ton of energy around the stadium. Suites should get first level parking in the CRI deck and a golf cart shuttle.
Gate 2 will lead directly to the tower that has 4 elevators and a stairs used to get to the second level. Hopefully we can fill the upper deck and that means up to 3000 people will use Gate 2. The issue will be the scramble for the Gold parking spots. I agree with you. When people pay the price for the new seating and club they should expect decent parking.
So 3k use gate 2 and ~ 15.5k use the other 2 gates?
That was my concern. About 2.5x the traffic going through those. I think they should let the green seat lower bowl folks at a minimum, and possibly a couple of the adjacent sections too, also use gate 2. However it works to even things out a bit. I understand that will be a priority seating gate, but aren’t the gold fsl / folding seats still considered priority?
With the Club opening 90 minutes before there will be a slower movement in but also not the mad rush before the game. As a posted previously, they should allow FSL in Gate 2 regardless of whether they move up or not.
I wish we could give students that whole visitor sideline (122-131). Slide visiting fans next to the band, Then you give students gates 4 and 5 and get to give the rest to alumni
