now that we have a coach

lets try and keep track of all the guys getting out of their letter of intent. i saw kevin noreen, a bc recruit just asked out of his letter of intent. espn.com has him ranked pretty high. i dont think we need a power forward but i thouht i would post his name.

we know the staff went to Oak Ridge Military recently to look at some 2011 recruits. We haven’t had any 2010 names pop up yet on our radar.

Evaluation May, 2009: Noreen is very skilled when facing the basket. He shoots the ball from 15-17 feet and he can put the ball on the floor to exploit mismatches. He is average athletically and must get tougher inside as well as he needs to rebound better. He does have good hands and post foot work. He passes the ball very well and finds the open man. Right now, he is a solid mid-major to possible high-major minus prospect. He is a 4.0 gpa student.
Notes Travel Team: Magic Elite/Minnesota Pump 'N Run…2010 Gatorade Player of the Year in Minnesota…All-time scoring leader in Minnesota (4,023 points)…Averaged 38.1 ppg as a senior…Reportedly has asked for release from letter of intent to BC (Boston Globe)…

Noreen sounds very intriguing. I hope we at least give him a call.

There won’t be any defections from Winston-Salem…

damn that stinks! Was hoping we could lure away Terrell. Oh well, I like the names we’re seeing for 2011 already. I think we have some great things to come.

I wonder how long that will last. I don’t see how those guys are staying at Wake with the Coach they have.

hehehe…thus begins another year of Niner basketball…it’s a vicious cycle.

Ditto on being really surprised by WFU keeping all those guys. I, too, was hoping we might find a way to pull Terrel our way a bit.

If Coach Bz does incorporate the Princeton style offense then Terrell and a couple of the other atheltes will be wasted.

Coach Bz weakness is in recruiting which is why they kept their staff in tact and needed desrerately to keep this top 10 class in tact. I am thinking they are hoping that Coach Bz can coach them up and get some wins and momentum moving forward to cover up his recruiting weakness down the line.

I think they will be some fallout down the line.

I’m guessing they’re telling the recruits what they want to hear right now (as everyone does to all recruits nowadays), after they arrive will come the ugly surprises.

Bzdelik did recruit Cory Higgins and Alec Burks to Colorado - the former all-conference and the latter the 2010 Big 12 ROY - so it’s not like he doesn’t know talent. Just getting enough of those type players to come to Boulder was a big issue. And I suspect while at Wake he’ll probably run a Princeton-type offense more akin to the version that Georgetown uses. Anyway, as always, time will tell about this hire.

Wake Forest must want to go back to Weak Forest by replacing Dino with Buzzkill. :stuck_out_tongue:

Gilvydas Biruta, Freshman, PF 6-8/225, ESPN rating = 91 (requested/awaiting release from NLI by Rutgers)

Mentioned Biruta earlier, but per Zagoria, he is staying with Rutgers. Must have some insight on who the new coach is going to be. Of course, if it’s ex-Ohio State HC Jim O’Brien, then perhaps Biruta is looking forward to getting paid to play!
