NY Times and Fort Mill?

actually, just found this site too http://ed.sc.gov/topics/assessment/scores/sat/2006/index.html

in 2006 Fort Mill went up to a (SAT 1083) #2

Riverside (in Greer) was #1 for non magnets

so I guess 2007 is the new scale

FTA:

However

i’m not sure how one goes about averaging scores from two different tests.
The overall SAT scores for CMS were also broken out by school. Five CMS high schools had scores that averaged above 1000 points: Myers Park, 1130; Providence, 1110; North Mecklenburg, 1050; David W. Butler, 1038; South Mecklenburg, 1029.
I’m fairly certain that the picture in the article is of houses under construction at the end of the street I will be living on. Ground breaking for me is in 2 weeks. Looking forward to living there.

Comparing SAT/ACT scores in NC and SC is fine. Comparing the avg scores of schools and individuals work well. However, if you begin comparing scores nationwide, it can be misleading. In many states, only the best students take these exams and lower performing students are discouraged from taking the tests. This protects their state avg and keeps politicians and school board members happy.

Having said that, Ft Mill High has a very solid reputation in North and South Carolina and the SATs support that.
