What’s worse, if something were to actually happen, some people might now dismiss it as the government being idiots again. It’s just like crying wolf.

This reminds of an old saying in Tennessee - I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee… that says, fool me once, shame on… shame on you… the fooled man can’t get fooled again.
