Observations on Internet Video Feed

Since like MANY regional fans that don’t have TW, I usually listen to the games on internet radio. Following the suggestions of posters yesterday, I bought a month’s worth of Memphis games for $4.95 in order to see the niners.

It was quite interesting listening to the Memphis anouncers - I think they did a fairly good job overall despite the biased comments on the poor officiating. They did give us props throughout the game and said we would dominate the A10.

Now that web based video broadcasts are common place, why can’t all of the niners home games be televised over the web? Capture the live video feed when they’re televised and use a single camera when they’re not. The audio could come from the FNZ announcers for non air broadcast events.

Geez, how much would it cost to operate a single camera with a web server? I paid $4.95 for a months worth of Memphis games. I’d pay that much for each niner game that was webcast. I’ll be there are at least 500 (maybe a 1,000?) more folks like me outside the TW service area that would do the same. If a chick in a dorm room can have real time video for her escapades, why can’t we see a basketball game?
